Starlight got some good development in the last episode which I liked but her Reformation was very rushed and her reason for being bad wasnt that "valid" I'd say. For Sunny, she has had development throughout and I love how she had to face consequences for her actions when she became a social pariah at the school and had to prove her worth rather than being directly accepted by everyone. That's something they did play around with in the last episode with Starlight that I loved and I can't wait to see how she proves her self. Sunny's Reformation was also rushed and wished they showed her fighting against the inherent evil she has, but I favor her reason for being evil which was, she was just inherently evil and power hungry. That's some really good character building as we learned how everyone deserves a second chance. In total I favor each and they are both starting to grow on me well yet they can't yet be fully compared since Starlight has just changed whereas Sunny has had 2 movies showing her changing. Both though have really rushed reformations though and I want to see them both fighting against their old selves. But in terms of raw magical power, I have to give it to Sunny who has studied hard and was Celestias student. Sunny did have a kinda crappy plan whereas Starlight had a much better prepared plan. Maybe that's reflected bybeach character since sunny is associated with fire which is more spontaneous and Starlight is all about planning and control as we saw. I live both though.
