I said it once, I'll say it again. I doubt she was attempting suicide. I imagine that she had a few plans for how to pull of the stunt, it's just that she didn't have nearly as much confidence in them as she did in Starlights plan.
It's not so much that she was trying to commit suicide, but more that she simply was open to and accepting of the possibility of committing a suicidal act because she was in a compromised emotional state.

Here's the way I see it. She went through with the act because she was a performer. But in her depressed state, she didn't care what happened to her. If by some miracle she pulled it off and Glimmer helped, great, otherwise whatever. Glimmer was going to help her no matter what, but that didn't mean she would be friends with her. She's just not that ice cold. At the last second Trixie regrets going through with it, just like someone who's jumped and see's the ground right in their face at the last moment
