I still buy cards once in a while, just to see what the new cards can do. I know how to play but I don't go to those comic book stores where they have an area for tabletop games anymore. This one jerk I was playing with during a MLP CCG tournament was really rude to an employee and it completely soured the experience.

I don't play irl card games anymore. I stick to games that have a free online version for me to use.
The only card game I will spend money on is Chaotic, and that is only because the game is dead and I want to keep it alive as long as I can by buying whatever from it I can find online.It came out too early with the play online gimmick, if it waited for mobile games to get big it would have survived and thrived.

Problem is no support from flgs. here in CO there was only two store that held tournaments for it. Any others literally would not hold product due to "not wanting to lose magic players due to Brony stigma"
even the two stores wouldn't hold much product. One held a release tournament that had people from a state over pre reg, but only ordered enough prize stuff for a small tournament. Turn out was good around 20 people, could only have 10 people actually do the tournament because not enough stuff to run a full one.

Still going strong in some places, but I get the feeling it's been on the downswing for a while. Most likely a result of the brony label stopping the game from attracting enough new players past the initial boost of brony publicity. Not sure how long it will keep going for, but I feel the game is definitely not sustainable.
Also, Enterplay still hasn't delivered on that organised play website they promised, right?
I wouldn't know much about recent developments though. My playgroup dissolved late last year.

OP of many of the CCG threads from mid 2014 to early 2015and the guy who made far to many custom cardshere. The threads gradually slowed down in activity to the point I seemed to be the only one keeping them alive much of the time. After a while I felt there wasn't really enough of an audience for a full blown general to be supported on /mlp/. It seems I was right, since any threads I've seen since have died rather quickly.

There's two big things holding it back.
1. Many LGS don't want to throw time/support behind it because it's still relatively niche.
2. No proper OP. We were promised an Organized Play site beginning of last year and it still hasn't launched. Sure there are regionals and nationals but nothing to keep people really involved in the week to week community.
It's a solid game and the MtG friends I've showed it to said they actually liked some of the mechanics. But Enterplay is just a little too small and playing it a little too safe.
I would like to play this, but I have no friends who are into pone.

It basically only exists at cons anymore. Most hobby and game shops in my area don't bother to carry it anymore. It got a nice boost during the fad era of the fandom, but now that it is ending alot of people stopped showing up to weekly card events. Add onto that how there weren't that many people interested to begin with, and its easy to see how it dies.
