Well,may be they have two soldiers who are named Boris and to differentiate them they call one of them Borya.
Also the story is a little bit unrealistic.Thry would like to send wild chechens,while regular soldiers are building mansions for their generals and officers are trying to sell equipment,vehicles etc.
