Despite being Twilight's assistant, Spike finds himself with plenty of time to help other ponies - most notably Rarity, though he'll obligingly provide fledgling playwright skills or other odd jobs if asked (and lately, helping Starlight Glimmer must also figure in). Usually it's enough helping the more spellbound ponies, however. Rarity is always happy for the assistance in gem collection; her finding spell may be part of her talent, but the labor takes a toll on her sterling complexion and as tempting as it is, she can't spend all her days at the spa.
