Celestia is on the verge of getting shit done cause and is going to actively start doing stuff, to our knowledge instead of the implied stuff, for her people and her country. YAY FUCKING YAY FOR SUNBUTT!!!

... And now we have AJ who apparently has forgotten to feel those almost not regrets, about Sunny, cause apparently the "Episode" ended and nothing of value was retained for the sake of the future plot.

And now that we are on the next "Episode" the best way to "fix things" apparently, is to dig up shit on Chitty, cause shes apparently the defacto big baddy and beating her is gonna solve all those issues.

This is what were doing? Right? This is what I'm seeing here? Not becoming a better princess/person, but instead learning to "hit" the "badguy" where is hurts? Cause that's gonna solve everything?

She regrets that she ignored both her student and the threat Chitty posed and is now determined to find anything at all to rectify this, and her only lead is the the diary, which she learned about from her previous lead Arana.

She's not looking fore a battle, though. I was saying she found something to help her understand Chitania better at the end of the last thread, and that's going to tie into the fight. I'm actually hoping it doesn't lead to some sort of powerup or anything, because that would be character regression. Last thread she said she never even tried to understand Chitty, and when it came down to it and she needed to stop her, she couldn't think of any way to do it. Not in a combative sense, but that she couldn't appeal to Chitty as a person. I loved that revelation reveal, that she understands she only ever saw Chitty as a nuisance or a foe, and as a result when it came down to it she didn't understand her and how to make her stop. That was a great moment, especially Pinkie's part.

I'm not looking for dumb apple fight, I'm looking for her to see where Chitty's life all started to fall apart and learn to understand others as individuals. Not sympathetic, but in the political sense of how to talk to them even when they're being combative.

Why would CHITTY think that? Why would she think nothing was being made? You're correct, nothing had been made, the question here is why SHE would think that.

That's not what I said, though. I said she would assume they had a way to hold her that they built in the last year she's been running around. And why wouldn't she? Why would she think that, because she was pardoned, they're suddenly going to give up? She knows they didn't like it, and are just waiting for her to slip up again so they can lock her up/kill her, likely the latter.

The question was not whether or not such a prison existed, we haven't said it did so we have to assume it wasn't built, the question is how the character herself would think on the subject. To reiterate

Actually all that was the Nobles fault, not Rarity's. You see the nobles and citizens of Canterlot actually have a very justified reason for causing problems, no matter how stupid it is to act on it consider who is involved.

If someone ruined your home/business and neighborhood and then was pardoned of the crime wouldn't you jump at almost any chance to get back at them, if it could be done even semi legitimately? They wouldn't care that she was pardoned, they have personal grudges!

A princess shows up and starts shouting at the person of their ire? That is a shining beacon that reads "THIS IS OUR CHANCE! The Canties were waiting to cause trouble and Rarity was the perfect window of opportunity to do it.

So really you can't blame Rarity for causing the current fighting, causing drama sure but if they had fired the first shot I'm sure Chitty could have actually talked Rarity into not doing 'this' right now. Who knows where we could have gone from there... all I see is combat now though... GLORIOUS COMBAT!

Oh, for sure. That's what makes it so tragic. If she had just been allowed to finish her sentence, it is highly likely that Rarity would have just said she didn't even care about Chitty and was only talking to Sunset. That would have diffused the whole situation if she could have just gotten out a word, and Rarity would have likely bucked off or something.

This whole thing was an accident, but that's the whole point of it, nobody cares about anybody but themselves and it only looking out for their own interest. Conflict of the story and all that.

Exactly what Celestia meant, Dollestia found out when the wall next to them seemed to groan with pressure.

With all the force of Pinkie’s party cannon being fired on full blast, a sizeable chunk of the wall blew out in a rush of rubble and debris-

While Dollestia blinked, utterly startled, Celestia’s gaze was drawn to the suitcase dragged in with her pupil, and she smiled.

Inhaling some of the dust on his yell, Jetset’s coughing fit made answering quite difficult.

“P-Princess! I- *kaff*! I’m s-sorry about my appear- *coughcough* my appearance! I didn’t-”

Still trying to regain his balance, Jetset was nearly bowled over when Dollestia’s head rammed into his cheek.

‘It’s good to see you again!’

The nuzzling stopped almost instantly.

‘…I thought I told you to stop calling me that.’

“When you cease to be something other than a miniature version of my Queen, I will.”

As the called agent snapped into proper stance, Celestia also noticed that his shades, which were just as infamous as he, were missing and that his mane was completely out of synch, tufty and all over the place.

The admission came so suddenly, so easily said with that soft tinkling laugh of hers, that in addition to stopping Jetset’s babbling, it caused his cheeks to glow.

A single glance away of the stallion’s eyes was all too telling, but he refocused.

“I stand by the notion that you must have had a good reason, my Queen.”

It couldn’t be any more obvious that Jetset felt the exact opposite, given how he sucked in his lips and the way his right eye twitched. Celestia’s smile grew warm.

So when he did it again, she nodded.

Celestia closed the gap between herself and Jetset so quickly that it put into Jetset’s mind she’d always been within touching distance.

And when the tip of her horn touched his, a light more piercing than the sharpest blade burst from Jetset’s eyes, and from his mouth, which was open in a silent scream.

There was no response, only a nod, and then Celestia and her doll-counterpart were the only beings visible in the now partially ruined hall.

She felt his presence, oh absolutely, and it felt stronger than in recent memory.

‘Yes! …Though shouldn’t you fix the wall first?’

>No, I don’t think I will. What I will do, however, is send a note to Raven so she can get some certified ponies down here to fix it, ponies who could use the experience and bits for a job.

The princess smiled ever so regally at hovering effigy of herself.

He'd already shot at her at least three times, and it hadn't even been a single minute passed.

The older, much more wizened pony was likely confused that not a single bolt of his actually hit her, always managing a stumble or a poorly timed sneeze just as soon as he fired it and launching wildly into the crowd, striking fellow pony and machine alike. Even as strange as it was, her horn was dim and unlit, and to him that meant there was no magic to be had. Instead, he blamed it all on being off his game in his older years.

"I said begone, you ugly thing!"

She felt the beam whizz past her face, leaving a tingling sensation on her cheek. The pony behind her who suddenly fell to convulsions wished they were so lucky.

The electric bolt should have found her no matter how she moved. Would have, likely, if a mech had not been bumped by another unicorn into range, and taken the full power of the lightning instead.

I've seen it, but I was wrong when I thought it before. I was so sure, but I was wrong. What about you? What did you see? Fear? Glory? Or a beast? Why did you do it?... Why did you attack my mom?

He slipped again, but it wasn't enough this time. She felt something burn, a streak along the edge of her round black head. It hurt, leaving behind a painful throb and a shallow cut in it's wake. The wound was not severe, little more than a cat's scratch, but the pain it left behind spoke of something much more than lightning, or fire, or regular old magic. This one had only glanced her, but she felt as if she had been violently struck.

Even with all the pain in the world trying to bring her down, she remained standing.

Her hoof inched out, poking him in his chest. With all the strength of a weak kitten, she pushed. He fell back, and began the longest journey of a scant few short meters that the world had ever seen.

It started when he fell onto a dish cart that had been rolled under him at that exact moment by a pony tripping over a fallen fellow Elite and landing headfirst into it. The glass that shattered on his back had only been the start.

From there, it seemed every single one of the crowd that still stood had been preparing to launch an attack at the Titan, and every one of them turned their heads to spot the noise at the worst possible moment. A barrage of all sorts of weapons and spells hit him from all sides, each one firing off just as he rolled past. One poor mare who had been in the way jumped to the side just in time, but in her haste tossed a bottle of hot sauce that she had held into the air. It was a perfect landing on his wounds. Then came the dinner tables filled with food and drinks, the bumpy ride that agitated the glass on his back, and the painful hits of anyone unlucky enough to be in his way.

His luck almost turned up, when the door to the restaurant flung open from someone racing outside. It was a clear shot, at last, and he almost rolled out into the street to relative ease. He would have, if a nail hadn't been upturned in the worst spot.

The cart snapped up like a catapult, and he flew clear out the door, and into the streets, his landing just as terrible as his flight, leaving him groaning, aching and bleeding in pain on the ground outside, unable to talk or move.

The door slammed shut, and the unluckiest flight in the world was over. It was all over.

The others had turned their attention back to what they had been doing before, attacking and firing whatever they could at the rampaging monster. The pony that flew by had only been a momentary distraction, a curiosity and nothing more. They had not stopped to consider why, they had not given it question, they had only seen it happen and move on. What he had gone through was nothing to look at, for the beast was still inside, and they were still in danger. They had to fight, they had to put her down like a rabid dog, and that was that.

Thirteen accepted she had no way of knowing if it had been that pony who had fired the first shot, if he had actually been the one to cause her mother such pain, if he had started all this. She had not gotten a thing out of him save insults and scorn, so all she had were the words of the mare who had supposedly seen it. She didn't know if it was him, or not.

The more she thought about it, the less she thought it mattered.

If it had been him, the mare telling her machine to spit fire, the stallion casting spells, or the unicorn trying out his new Infusion, it didn't matter. He could have been any one of them, might as well have been. Right now, for all intents and purposes, the whole of the Elite of Canterlot had one thing on their mind.

Kill Chitania. Kill her mother.

She wanted to believe the Princess hadn't intended this at all. This had been a mistake, a misunderstanding. That Sunset had been wrong.

With every attack... denial became harder and harder.

Rarity, despite how she tended to act on occasion, really did care about her friends feelings, all of them.

So, she could only hope Dash did not misread her intentions, and wouldn't think she was trying to show her up.

The Titan rebuked her every time she tried to get up and mount a proper offense. Every time so much as a spark of light mingled with the white on her horn, a black hoof of terror would lash out and bring her right back to the ground.

A ground she would not stay on. It was simply too dirty, after all.

Just as she had every time before, she rose up, she summoned what little magic she could, and then came the blow. Before, she could at least dodge a few, but she had slowed recently, the entire thing proving to be too much for her.

"GRRRRAAGHHH!"

That thing just kept roaring at her too.

A hoof to the face cut that off.

The floorboards felt so tantilizing that time, much softer and more comfortable than they had any right to be. Briefly, she considered laying down, and getting her breath back briefly.

A thought she quickly squashed, and pushed aside. It wouldn't be proper for a lady to stay on the ground, after all.

'You know the sad part? I should probably be telling you to stay down and stuff, but wow this is fun!'

A lady also shouldn't think such thoughts as the ones currently flooding her mind, but there was simply no helping that one.

'Go on, try again!'

She didn't know if Sunset was surprised or not when she actually did as asked, getting back to shaky hooves and lighting up her horn as before. A bolt of light struck the Changeling right in her cheek, yet barely made her flinch. The hoof that responded to it managed quite a lot more.

She hoped she wouldn't have to pay for that table.

'Holy shit, you actually did it!... Do it again!'

The Titan seemed to agree, and attempted to prove just that when she hit her so hard her alabaster body shattered the one remaining chandelier on the ceiling.

She was getting slower now, not rising up as quickly, her already useless hits doing less and less every time, if that were possible.

All the same, speed be damned, she rose once more. Every time.

'Again!'

Every time the changelings eyes almost wandered, she got back up.

Every time the Titan almost turned to those occasionally pelting her with magic, she fired her white bolts again.

Every time, without fail, that the Titan almost looked away, she threw one more barb.

She did it, every single time, and she would keep doing it.

'You ready to give up yet?'

She never voiced the words to that one, couldn't yet. It wasn't time yet, there was still much to do before she said... "No, there's still something to do."

Rarity was not a grand warrior, she was not an unstoppable being, nor was she a magician without compare, but there was one thing she had that those who possessed such qualities did not.

She knew the usefulness of a good show.

And how important it was not to stay down... until the curtain call.

The common room of the elusive night guards was one of held breath, filled with tension so thick you could cut it.

The ones present were crowded around a round table, more specifically around a little tail-wagging changeling with a bevy of ingredients laid out before him while the night guard captain herself stood just behind.

She reached overhead, picking up a miniature bottle.

“And this…?”

The bottle was returned and the captain merely smirked.

She dragged the word out, slowly, with a whimsical dread as she reached for the last ingredient, a bottle of darkish liquid.
