The amulet isn't a good proof. The amulet is pretty damn bullshit. She was way above Twilight's level with that.
Also we've seen that even Rarity who has nothing to do with magic is much better at magic than Trixie could ever be.

She knows a lot about various powerful spells and even without the amulet, she was able to do some transformation magic (change Rarity's hair), control weather (the lighting bolt cloud, Dash tornado), summon fireworks and ropes.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was above and beyond even Minuette's abilities (who also studied at the same school Twilight had).

Also I'm pretty damn sure that that wasn't Celestia's school for gifted unicorns seeing how, the only people who we know went there showed incredible magi aptitude before being enrolled and how literally everyone in Twilight's class in that flashback was a blank flank.

You know, I just realized that Sombra would have never been able to conquer Canterlot or any of the Pegasus cities.
Canterlot is on the side of a mountain and could easily be defended. Also if it was under siege pegauses can bring in supplies without a problem. Fuck they could jsut do it with their airships, sombra doesn't have any way to stop them or control the side of the city that's on the cliff.
And even if he could somehow get acess to an armada of airships to invade that way ponies could just move Cloudsdale over Canterlot, have complete air superiority and manufacture weather to help them fuck those airships.
