11-54 is the story of a filly exploring a strange facility filled with hostile creatures and unstable architecture.
You've gone quite a ways in the last few days but as it stands, your journey is not over.
So far you were born into this facility from mysterious tubes that litter the building. You've managed to die twice, only to
be re-born from the tubes. Along the way you met a pony who is your clone, who is much older than you, and remembers the
facility before if fell into disrepair. Your older clone who you've named Spearmint told you about the mental conditioning
program that the facility used to run, which left her a bit of a psychological mess. There are various hostile artificial
organisms created by the facility that lurk the halls. You are also being hunted by the automated security who seeks to
contain the artificial organisms. Along the way you've also meet an investigative reporter by the Name of Photo Bomb who was
in a helicopter that crashed into the building. Upon meeting the reporter you choose to name yourself Peppermint. After escaping a lab housing a bio-computer's and recently exploring an aquatic biology laboratory you find yourself facing a seemingly telepathic creature in the facility.

What will you do now?

Come on in to the 11-54 CYOA and help this filly and her companions escape.

“We're not leaving you behind! I don't care what you say this thing is. Safety in numbers.”
>You look as the colt's bindings, trying to get an idea of how best to get him down.
>The colt seems to be attached to the metal fame that holds the dropped ceiling in place. It looks like the colt is bound and hung from the ceiling with a thick braided nylon rope lashed over his limbs and barrel.
>As you try to work out how you're gonna get him down, you hear the clatter of things getting thrown against the wall in the room Photo Bomb entered when your group split up to flank the creature who held this colt captive.

Just noticed something about the bioform. It's wearing a mask/goggles.

Maybe its eyes are sensitive to light? What if PB flashed her light at it, possibly saving her life/only getting her tossed against the wall?

Another thing: Maybe stuffing our ears with some gauze my help with the crippling noise it makes until we can get rid of whatever it's using to produce it. Someone already suggested not using TK around it, too.

Has anyone considered that it might not have been a real physical noise but instead some kind of psychic mind attack?
>>
>>27006320
That actually does sound like it's more likely.
>>
>>27006320
I was under the impression it was a psychic attack this whole time, he holds up his hand and does a force push kind of thing.

>>27006320
>as you fall to the floor and begin screaming in agony, you can see the hand in your mind
>you can see the hand in your mind
This supports the notion of it being some sort of psychic attack.

Another thing: He doesn't seem to be able to attack while doing the crippling noise thingy, I'm left to wonder what all he can do simultaneously. Or maybe he can attack and is just toying with us.

I have other theories but I feel I'm getting carried away.

>the creature turns it's attention to you, and PB is thrown at you
She was on the floor before this, so call me a retard but I finally gathered that he's capable of telekinesis. The creature could be almost entirely psychic based. Just food for thought in case any of you know how to combat that kind of opponent.

Next, I know the colt said that he doesn't know of any weaknesses, yet I feel the need to ask him about his previous encounters with it or its kind. In the last thread he said:
>Just tell the queen that Twenty has moved to the kitchens on floor 22 quarter 3. I'll come back to life when he's done with me."
So perhaps this thing is from a colony, one of many. He might not know much about how to beat this thing, but I'm sure he knows something else crucial.

Regardless, this thing has Spearmint now. Even with these ideas I personally don't know what else to do besides blindly rushing after her. I haven't been this scared for her in a long time. I'm strongly hoping you all know what to do.

>This realization snaps you out of a blind rage and gives you a snap second to consider things. Photo Bomb was thrown at you without any of her stuff so it all must have been drop or have fallen off when she was being thrown around. in the other room. The area over the counter can be accessed through the room PB was in. and is about as large as the are behind this counter. The cieling on fire probably make the space in the dropped ceiling unbreathable but this also means that seen pieces of burning ceiling will begin falling.

Well, all sorts of shit just hit the fan. And the fan caught fire.

Ask the colt if he'll help us before unbinding him. Two pairs of hooves would help a lot more than one right now, but I'd like it if he didn't just abscond us to find the "queen" or whatever. He could put out the fire/get PB to safety while we go after Spear.

Agree this has potential. If not...

We may not want to use up one of our bullets, but would .45 ammo pierce the door?

Not sure I remember how our light spell works--can we blast some light behind the door?

Also, perhaps slam the table we tipped into the door or otherwise use it to block the way, or use it as cover for you and Spearmint.
>>
>>27009918
Also, on the wall to our left/picture's right: what dis? Could be window, but looks more like something hanging (whiteboard? corkboard?) If the latter, is it loose enough to be used by or against us?

Oh shit, and wait, if it's psionic it may not need to see/light may not matter at all. It wasn't specified that the thing even looked at us before doing its debilitating magic trick. So if it's crazy enough, the door could be a distraction and it could still be up in the smoky ceiling. What's that thing on the ceiling that newhorse/PB are headed right under?

Two unconscious mares in a burning room and this faggot runs off.

I want to verify the importance of the table moving on its own as well as what he's running from. I think the latter takes priority though, especially if he left PB for dead. Let's check that out first.
>>
>>27017931
I'm pretty sure the creature was baricading itself in the room using it's psychic powers. I think going by the table would be a bad idea. My advice is to check our inventory and the area for anything flammable or explosive to keep this guy in there. Meanwhile watch out for that window. I got to go back to bed, just got up to pee, good luck everyone
>>
>>27017931
Hmm, good point, we didn't hear a body hit the floor...did he take PB with him? Whatever the case, we should look behind us. Just a glance, check if the colt left PB and if anything else has changed.

>>27017884
Hmm.../feed/back, it was getting ready to butcher the colt, it set the dining table up... Ask if it's just hungry? Throw it an MRE!

Also we should be poking Spearmint continuously as we drag her. Pokepoke wake up dammit.
>>
>>27018017
...it does look more like a window now, doesn't it? And it looks like it opened compared to the prior turn. We should check that out.

We do have a molotov-in-waiting in our jacket. Could use that to ward the door temporarily, but only if 'Twenty' doesn't interrupt our fire spell... Seems risky.

>she's not sleeping, she's been knocked unconscious.
And if everything was fine we could leave her be, but everything is not fine, and we already have to move her as it is, so attempting to wake her on the way with a poke to the kidney will do no additional harm, and if she wakes up and is coherent she can watch our back and/or help with PB.

>You shake Spearmint around a bit.
"Spearmint, Wake up, please. You're got to get up!"
>Spearmint make a little bit of noise, but it doesn't sound like words.
>You look back to see if the colt took PB with him. She is still laying on the floor a little ways away from where the colt drug her from.
>You remember that this thing was just about to butcher that colt when you got here.
"H-hey, are you hungry? I-I've got some spare food. If you'd like..."
>Another painful screech fills you head followed by the table quickly advancing on you. It stops a yard away from you.
>You think about ways you could attack this thing. You've still got a bottle of rubbing alcohol and some gauze But you'd have to light it with the flames from the fire you started. Which may take a while. Right now, you wish that you would have had Spearmint tech you that fire spell.
You can't run fast enough while carrying Spearmint or PB much less both of them.
>You hear the sound of a fire alarm erupt from the hallways.

What do you do?
>>
>>27018284
Keep the gun on it. Throw it an MRE. If the table moves forwards we need to duck and roll it and then shoot.
Wasting shots when we can't see what we're shooting at is no good.
>>
>>27018284
Lie PB and Spear beside each other. Looks like we're holding down the fort.

Spear may not have taught us combust, but she did teach us condense. Could we make enough water to counteract the fire's current progress on the ceiling?

Try talking to the bioform once more, pleading this time. We don't want to fight you, we just want to get out of here. Isn't that what you want too?
>>
>>27018284
If we had to we could probably light the molotov with muzzle flash.
>>
>>27018315
>wasting an MRE
The thing clearly doesn't want food, bro.

>>27018284
Maybe we can convince the bioform that we aren't worth the hassle. You know, point out that we're all gonna die in a fire if we don't skedaddle. Something like "in case you didn't notice, the room is on fire and soon we will be, too."
>>
>>27018385
>I want to get away but lets not try giving it anything
That's stupid. We're losing. Give it something and hope to placate it.
>>
>>27018284
Yeah, talk to it, plead/try to reason with it, toss it an MRE and see if it'll go away.

Wait, is the fire even spreading to this room? Is there a sprinkler system that might go off? If not, the fire alarm may attract firefighting robots.

Hopefully if it attacks we can manage the light spell, in case that is a weakness. Or if we can get to PB we can use her flashlight or camera flash.

It clearly doesn't want our MRE. If it was gonna butcher that colt for food, it's safe to say that this thing is pretty red-blooded.
>>
>>27018418
It moved closer then stopped when we offered food.
>>
>>27018425
It pushed the table towards us. It didn't move closer. Maybe it's behind the table and it's gonna pop out and be super spoopy, but I was under the impression that it's hiding in the darkness behind that door we couldn't shut before.
>>
Shriek once for yes, twice for no?

>>27018448
I think it could be in either place, and we can't really know which.

It's a good point that even if it is hungry, it may only want fresh meat (or may find an MRE objectionable). We could always offer it some, uh, 'horse veal', as long as it agrees to leave our friends alone...

Of course, then we wouldn't be around to help them for an hour plus however long it takes to find/get back to them.

"R-right. So, why did you bring me here?"
>The tentacles answer, "You are here to answer my questions."
"Yeah, but there is some one talking to me from down these stairs that."
>"There are no stairs, there is no one else You will answer to me!"
"Give me a moment to prepare..."
>You begin to back down the stairs.
>"No. You will come"
>The tentacles begin reaching for you, but you swiftly make your way down beyond the tentacle's reach.
>Once you make it down the stairs you find a room that looks strangely familiar as well as a chair ready for you and another chair that is turned around.
>You hear your own voice come from the chair that is turned from you, "Please, take a seat."
"You told me that you are a part of Spearmint but you never told me who or what you are."
>"I'm... It's hard to explain.I don't want you to worry, I'm not another personality, but I am a part of you."
"You're going to need to be less vague if you want me to sit down."
>"Have you noticed that you have knowledge beyond what you should know? have you noticed that you knew how to read and speak without the need to learn these things, or how you understood NFPA signs or learned to cast spells faster than any unicorn should. Even the fact that you understood that you are a unicorn in your first moments of life should have struck you as odd. Unicorns aren't just supposed to know these things."
"So are you saying that you taught me these things?"
>"No. I am your knowledge in a way. The closest thing I can really call myself is your id even though I'm not sure if that is really accurate. I embody all of the knowledge you may not know you posses."
"So, why do you want to talk to me?"
>"I never know what knowledge I have that you need to remember you have to give you. I don't know everything, but as you can guess I know much more than you access."
>You're still standing next to the chair.

What do you do?

>You climb up into your chair and hang your back hooves off the edge as you lounge.
>You rattle your brain for things to ask as you stare at the back of the chair and swing your hooves off the edge.
"Um... Do you know anything that could help me with that thing that beat up PB and Spearmint or maybe what we should do when we find that Alicorn?
>"Unfortunately those are the kinds of things I only know as much as you about. Twenty, I think the colt called it. Seems to want something from you, and it also seems intelligent I think we need to get as much information we can out of it about the Queen ponies keep talking about as we can. Also, this might be our chance to actually make some sort of deal for Spear and PB's life. Also, I think we had a dream about this Twenty before we met him. Maybe he was reaching out to us before or trying to project himself into the minds of all of the ponies here. I don't know how much we should trust him, so we should try to find something that we can do for him that will give us some real leverage."
"But what about the Alicorn?"
>"I don't know. From what I remember alicorns are usually royalty but I think this one was made here so this might be why she has all of the ponies up here calling her queen... Or the ponies up here choose to call her queen. Either way, it's weird that she doesn't just fly out of here. it sounds like she's powerful so there's either something keeping her here, or she has chosen to stay in this awful place for some reason. It's strange..."

Uhhhhh

Will I be able to communicate with you in any way outside of this fancy dreamworld? Also, what's up with the sky octopus thing trying to seduce me into following it?

Why do we know about weapons and have combat-oriented skills? Why don't we seem to care much about pain and dying, when Spear does? Why are we the opposite of squeamish? Are we a part of a program to make really cute brainwashed tank-grown supersoldiers?

Do we know kung fu any extra magic or skills that could be helpful, now or later? Horn fencing or projectile acceleration? Can we cast Magic Missile at the darkness? Curaga? Time-stop? Shield spells? Summon Soft Drink? Quench Fire?

Do we know what that ringing was?

Since we don't know about the Queen, do we know anything about the Machines or the Corporation? Keywords or pass codes to get powered armor, laser guns, and lunch delivered to us? Is Spear right about not trusting the Machines? Do we know of any important locations within the building? Anything about manipulating building systems? How to mess with the regeneration system to add, remove, or change organisms, or activate the super-secret executive express elevator to the lobby/roof?

If we somehow make it to the roof, do we really think we can escape this building?

What do we not know that we do know that we should know?

...Why haven't you turned your chair around?

Is there a potential for ourselves that we haven't unlocked yet?

"If you are who you say you are, why haven't you shown yourself."
>I'm afraid of wat I may look like, I will appear as your mind's interpretation of me and I don't know what that is, but,"The chair turns itself around revealing it's contents. "I guess it may be worth it to know."
"What do we know about piloting?"
>"We've got a basic understanding of fixed wing flight controls, a vague understanding of rotatory aircraft controls, some awareness of taxiing procedures and some knowledge about aerodynamics; nothing I'd call professional though."
"Do you know why we know as much as we do about weapons."
>"No, I only know as much about the intent of this facility, company and these experiments as you have learned by walking through here and reading things."
"What about why I seem to be less afraid of dying than Spearmint."
>"You know that's a lie! We both remember the pain as you got crushed to death, twice! That feeling of dead as as you feel the flesh give and our bones breaking. You know we can't let that happen to Spearmint again! She's had this happen to her more times than we know! ...and that accident that created us, might have taken her ability to come back. Loosing her is much more frightening and you know that."
"Do you think we have some greater potential for raw power that we might use to push us forward? Anything that maybe we could unlock to help us here and now?"
>"With what you've seen Spearmint do, you should know that her spells are strong... too strong actually. I'm pretty sure that means something but I don't know much more than you do about it."
"Do you know if Spearmint is okay."
>"... I'm not going to lie to you but... We both just hope she's okay..."
"Is there a way I could speak with you outside of this world?"
>"I don't really know but I believe we will only be able to communicate in the same capacity as before. Remember, I'm not a different individual. I'm part of you."

What do you do?
>>
>>27066677
If there's a possibility that Spearmint is out of the system, is there a possibility that we might get kicked out too?

Is it possible that as soon as we leave, the system will just make another clone that's trapped in the facility?
>>
>>27066677
Can't really think of many more questions. Guess we'll just have to pay tentacles a visit next.
>>
>>27066677
Is that...a pinto bean with our shadow? If you were a pinto bean, would ya eat yourself? I know I would! I'd be delicious!

>>27066740
Or if we die outside, we'll end up back here?

Yeah...I guess boop our pinto-Id, then maybe call up the stairs that we're coming up, before doing so. Ask Twenty if he's going to do terrible, uncouth things to us.

Depending on how fast it all goes, if he gives us a chance, we should apologize again for the shooting thing, and the setting his home on fire thing, and say he can do whatever he wants to us if our friends are unharmed... Gulp.

"If there's a possibility that Spearmint is out of the system, is there a possibility that we might get kicked out too?Is it possible that as soon as we leave, the system will just make another clone that's trapped in the facility?"
>"..." You hear your id shutter, "I don't know anything for sure but I think it's a very real possibility. I mean, Spear told us that she got hurt badly before we met her so maybe it has something to do with that o maybe she found a spot in this place that was outside the sensors or maybe... I really don't have the answers but it's possible that leaving this place will leave a clone of yourself here in our absence, or we could die out there and just end up back here. Just as cold and just as alone as we were, but I don't know what we could do about that short of staying here forever or destroying this Hell...I'm sorry, sometimes I get angry."
>Your lip quivers as you think about Spearmint. She deserves better than this place but so far things haven't gotten any better. and leaving another clone without a Spearmint or even having to come back... This frightens you more than you'd like to admit. Collecting yourself you bring yourself back to a business oriented mindset.
"Are there any other Spells we know Like a barrier or a laser or something?"
>"We don't know any other spells per se but we know more about spell casting techniques and procedures than we should... Also, a bit about chemistry now that I think about it. We could do some damage with the right chemicals..."
">You give your id a a shy smile.
"I guess you know what time it is..."
>"When you talk to Twenty make sure to apologize for shooting him... and setting his house on fire. I think we're both ready to let him do whatever he wants to us to save Spearmint and P'bers..."

>You emerge from the doorway and stare into the mass of tentacles that has blocked your way out.
"Twenty, right? I'm so very sorry for shooting you and I shouldn't have lit your things on fire and I swear, If you promise to let my friends live I'll do anything you want! I don't care if you want me to..."
>You're cut off by the voice of Twenty, "Quit! Save your pleading till after you answer my questions!"
>You snap your mouth shut and feel your legs begin to shake beneath you.
"O-okay."
>"I saw that you were the one in charge of your companions, so you will be the first I share my words with, before I check the others for signs of deceit. Understand!?"
"Yes, clearly..."
>"You are traveling with one who's rump is marked just like the creators. Explain this! The other also resembles you greatly. Explain this as well!"

Tell the truth.
Spearmint is our clone, we don't think she can be reborn anymore, since we took her spot.

The other is a pony from outside the facility. If she were to die it would truly be her death.

We alone can die and be reborn, please don't kill the others.

>You decide to tell the truth. Maybe this thing has some sense of empathy. After all it did come from the same place.
"The bigger pony that looks like me is my clone, and I'm afraid that she is no longer able to be reborn anymore, since I live now... And, the other is a pony from outside the facility. If she were to die it... Well it would be her end... At this point I alone can die and be reborn. That's why I have to protect the others even if I have to... I can't let them die! do you under stand? I'm... I guess at this point I'm not as important as they are."
>"Interesting. And what of your queen at the top of the tower how does she see your efforts?"
"I, we haven't met her we were on our way to the top of the building. I don't know, maybe she can help us."
>"Unlikely."
"I swear, I'm telling the truth."
>"I shall see soon enough. What do you seek at the top of this tower?"
>You notice that Twenty's voice is no longer as aggressive. you may be able to start asking him questions, but you should still be careful with what you say.
