It pulls itself into a gangly equine shape, a horrific neighing sound bubbling up from within it.
Two points of blue-white light push themselves to the forefront of the cloud, above a shrieking, yawing void lined with teeth.

A stream of flame wrapped in a salvo of glowing blobs of magic blasts out at the windigo's face. It screams and writhes in the face of the heat and, for some reason, from Foozle's magical spears. The windigo can't even get close to its quarry, whose shots are quickly turning it into -200 degree Swiss cheese.

The light pink glow around Foozle's horn spreads across her body, and then, inexplicably over Dandy's.
Then Günther's.
Then even Pupkin's and Reed's.
Her horn glows with a fantastic purple aura. She gasps as she notices it, and then her eyes gleam with white light and she lifts several inches off the floor.

Dandy and Günther watch in awe as Foozle hovers in the air, her horn glowing like a purple lighthouse. A soft, almost fuzzy warmth permeates Dandy's chest.

The light explodes outward like... well, an explosion, a curving, jagged beam of magic hurling itself out from Foozle's horn and slamming into the windigo with enough force to emit a thunderous rumble. The windigo struggles and cries out as it's engulfed and seemingly evaporates, its ruined body collapsing into the black void and dissolving into wisps, then into nothingness.
Only after the ghastly spirit is gone does the searing light finally fade from Foozle's face, and she lowers to the floor.

Günther looks down at Reed's prone form.
"Uh... Well, still, I gotta finish this. You guys do what you want until then." He grins knowingly at Dandy. "Within reason, I mean."
Dandy and Foozle blush and quickly glance in opposite directions.
The griffon chortles. "Anyway, just be careful of any other anomalies or other scary stuff, okay?"

Foozle thinks. "I guess, a little..."
His whole body shaking a little, Dandy opens his wing and gently drapes it around her. He feels her tense up as the soft feathers come in contact with her coat, but once she sees that it's just Dandy, she exhales and relaxes, softly resting her head on his shoulder.
The two of them sit in silence for a moment.

Dandy and Foozle turn to the sound of the groan. Reed is slowly coming to, a hoof rubbing his cheek as he slowly sits up.
"What... just happened?" he mumbles.

Reed takes a few seconds to process this. Then, he glares at Dandy.

"I understand that all this must be frightening. I'm scared, too. I usually am, really... but, I trust Dr. Pomp, and I think you should, too."
"I'd like to, but he isn't giving me much reason to." Reed answers.
"Maybe that's what you think from the time you've spent with him." she answers. "But, Günther and I have known him for longer, and he's been kind and hard-working to us. He's saved all of us, actually... Me, Günther, and Pupkin."
Pupkin yips excitedly, prancing over to Foozle at the mention of his name. Reed glances down at him, a thoughtful look on his face. "Yeah?" he asks.
Pupkin bobs up and down on his stumps.
"Hm..."
"Guys!" Günther's voice suddenly calls from down the catwalk. "I got one: Turbine 26!"

Pupkin barks eagerly, and Foozle nods, smiling confidently (for once). "Let's do it...!"
Reed, however, looks hesitant. "Are we sure this is going to work...?" he asks.

Reed glances sideways. "Well... Alright. I guess so."
Dandy and his party reunite with Günther, who leads them to the next row of turbines. Once they reach the fourth one, Günther holds out his claw to stop them."This is it." he says, sounding genuinely excited for the first time in quite awhile.
Dandy squints at the giant machine.
>"Are you sure? It looks the same as the last 6 we passed."
"Trust me, this is the one." the griffon responds as he sets up the zig-rigged pile of metal and wires he assembled. "ASCII says this one should be the easiest to start up manually. We might need Foozle's magic to help start it up, but once it's spinning, Reed should provide enough energy to keep it going for as long as we need!"
"How does it work?" Foozle asks, watching the assembly intently.
"Think of it like a pottery wheel." Günther explains. "When Reed's hoof vibrates, it springs up and down very quickly, right? This contraption - and yes, that is the technical term - has a pedal secured to the underside of the leg attachment. When Reed's hoof steps down, it'll hit the pedal, driving this piece here into this ridged wheel. That'll turn the wheel, which will spin these gears that attach to the turbine. That'll make it turn, and boom! We've got a pedaling pony power source!"

"But how long am I going to be doing this again?" Reed asks.
Günther looks towards Dandy. "Well, uh..."

"At least you cleared a path for them." Günther says with a nervous chuckle.
Dandy looks down.

Günther gives his friend a look. "Oh, uh, I didn't..." He stutters a bit before thinking better of it and turning his attention back to Reed: "Ummm... So, Reed! Just slip your hoof into this and I'll secure it in position."
"Alright..."
Once Reed is connected to the assembly, Günther checks it over for any loose or misaligned pieces. Satisfied that it's ready, he gets up and dusts off his claws. "Alright, Reed," he says, "once we give the signal, you start pumping that pedal. And you, Foozle, grip the turbine with your magic and help turn it. Getting it started will be the hard part; once it's spinning, Reed's twitchy hoof should be enough to keep it going. Got it?"
"Got it." Reed answers.
"Understood." Foozle adds.
Nodding, Günther steps back and pats Dandy on the withers. "Okay, colt, you're in charge here." he says. "Give the word, and they'll start driving the turbine. Just be sure they don't overdo it. More than 60 or 70 units of torque will break the assembly, or maybe even the shaft."

Foozle grits her teeth in exertion as her aura intensifies, the shaft of the turbine almost vanishing beneath her magical grip. Reed begins to press down on the pedal with both of his hooves, which finally causes the turbine to creak and groan as the shaft starts to slowly rotate.
