Sorry for all the stupid meta questions (and really this thread as a whole) It's just interesting to see how this whole board has changed so much in the past few years. The board has a real different feel to it, kinda like how /co/ became tumblr, I'd say this new /mlp/ feels a lot like /tg/ with all the cyoa and generals.
The board and posters in general seem to have lost the biting cynicism and shitpostiness they were known for back in the day. Haven't seen anything of the show since season3 wrapped up, but have a lot of people left due to show quality/changes, pandering writers fucking up their waifu's characters, or something to that effect?

Yeah this board has definetely changed, I assume you heard about the scruffening ( or were here when it happened) which shook things up.It seems like the posters are less enthusiastic than they were about ponys, due to its current direction,but might just be meThe mods are still fags and and a few people packed up and left for /pone/ on 8ch, it's quite nice but slow. The shitposting is still here and so is the cynicism, I would say that it is increased with recent developments (Flurry Heart the alicorn baby and the M7 due to Starlight Glimmer). But now a days it feels like most discussion spirals into namecalling and dismissing points with the aforementioned labels. Most of the old writers are gone, M.A Larson, AKR and Meghan who is working on the movie. It feels like the new writers don't really give a shit.

Nightmare Moon and Celestia got some interesting backstory in Season 4's premiereand we saw what the world would look like ruled by NMM (and Chrysalis, and Sombra, and Flim&Flam) in Season 5's finale.

Thought I had a cap of the original thread but couldn't find it. Short story is that a while back some faggot started a thread with an oc pone and asked /mlp/ to name her and trips decided the cutie mark. She was given the name Tracy because she was clearly a fluttershy trace. Trips was a pic of Nicholas Cage with a rainbow backdrop, and thus Tracy Cage was born. She became somewhat of an unofficial mascot for the board and somewhere along the line got a cynical personality and a penchant for stabbing people. Used to have a tracy drawfag and all sorts of stuff for the silly little horse that started out as a dank OC in a shitpost thread but slowly worked her way into our board culture.
