As for OP's question, what keeps me going nowadays is family, friends, ponies, and pony conventions. I love those.

Get into a habit of which you can keep keep immediate track of your progress with.
Drawing, writing, lifting, studying, sports, gardening, etc. Anything so long as you are able to stop at any time and view your progress.
This keeps the days from blurring together, which only happens when you have no notable milestones in your life. If you can't see progress, it all blurs together. So find a hobby, keep at it, if only to stop stagnation from settling in.
I personally try to write. Philosophy and meditation are other main outlets. This won't work for many other people; personal tastes and all.
Please, find something to keep progress on, to feel the glow of singlehanded accomplishment over yourself, and don't let your life just be a movie you're just forced to watch.
The world behind the bus window isn't a screen - you can go and climb that mountain in the distance, or talk to strangers on the street, because the world which is far away is as real as your office cubicle. Have faith in your own human condition and ability.

I'm not disciplined and patient enough to actually put so much time and effort studying anatomy, color, construction, and all of this shit, and then spend God only knows how many years practicing.
I also have this extremely bad habit of amost subconsciously comparing myself to vastly better artist who had many more years of experience.Although luckily that doesn't really happen all that much anymore.
It's just been extremely overwhelming. Much more so than I thought.

I'd recommend finding some artist to help tutor or give some guidance to you. There's a bunch of them that will do that if you ask nicely. Also, there are a bunch of drawfags that take 2 years, about, to git gud. That's not constant drawing during that period, but you'll improve by a lot in that amount of time.
