Neither Twilight nor Cadence have show to have the same power as Celestia and Luna.
We also know there's a difference between them because Luna and Celestia are "pure" unicorns, not ascended ponies.
We also have the whole Twilight will not outlive her friends thing, and I honestly doubt they already planned to make all of Twilight's friends alicorns.
Also I doubt they used Cadence and Shiny for the ideal love story only to have Cadence outlive Shiny and watch him get old and die.

I disagree. TMPP is a terrible episode that gets everything wrong. Many others "bad" episodes may have one or two things that could make them "bad" to the eye of some people, but this episode is the one episode that has everything wrong.
To start, the reason for Pinkie to duplicate herself is the beginning of her flanderization. She liked to have fun before, sure, everyone likes it, but we've never seen her being so obsessed to have fun.
The magical pond; there is a limit up to how much you can stretch a legend or a mystical item. Pinkie happened to remember about the pond. Pinkie happened to find it effortlessly. Pinkie happened to know the magical words to duplicate herself.
All the Pinkies are complete morons that know literally nothing about her friends. This part of the episode is ok and understandable, but making Pinkie doubt about wether she's the real Pinkie? That's the most stupid shit they could have done. Just by the fact that she remember what she ate for breakfast is reason enough to know you are the one. This is episode where Pinkie Pie died and was replaced by this party addict, moronic, flanderized character.
And to overkill the episode, nobody, not even Twilight, could recognize the real Pinkie from these clones and they followed the advice of a Pinkie that clearly couldn't be a clone to tell them apart. And what's that? One of the most boring moments in the series, a group of Pinkies watching paint dry. "Oh, it's supposed to be boring", that doesn't save it. Twilight killing Pinkie Pies just because they distracted? The real Pinkie could have died there, there are many ways to find out who is the real Pinkie without risking the real one.
And that's why this episode is terrible.

What about Discord? It was boring, but the story wasn't bad written.
Mysterious Mare-Do-Well? The girls are acting a little out of character to teach Rainbow Dash a lesson, but it was a very enjoyable episode.
Princess Spike? While it wasn't a great episode, it was enjoyable to see how Spike handled it himself.
Magical Mystery Cure? Maybe a bad "normal episode", but this wasn't a normal episode. It was a great season finale. Although I wasn't a fan of Princess Twilight, this episode was probably the best way to make it happen.
Twilight's Kingdom? It was probably the worst season premiere, but it wasn't bad. At least the memories of Luna and Celestia were great.
