Back in 2011 I thought Nyx was a canon character. I got confused when I realised she didn't appear in S1. Note, I saw Nyx before I started watching the show. OCs weren't as big then, even with the pony creator. Yes they existed in numbers but not to the reknown of Nyx. I saw her everywhere, she had to be canon is what I thought.

It wasn't anything too severe like a pony presentation or something. Some people were talking about shows they watch outside the classroom after our film appreciation final and I mentioned ponies in a bit too positive a light (it was maybe a month after I got into the series) which weirded them out. Never saw them again though, so no harm.
Family related one was after seeing A Canterlot Wedding and thinking the songs were good enough to make my sister in law watch and comparing it to Disney's stuff. She was pretty weirded out as well, but humored me since I don't ever really get excited for much. In hindsight me letting my immediate family and other people who see me regularly on a weekly basis know I was watching helped a lot since I don't really have to hide it. Don't catch much shit for it either since I calmed down a month after the S2 finale.
Back in 2012 when I discovered MLP. For the first two months until I would my way to /mlp/ I posted in a few forums and I would say things like "brohoof" and "20% cooler"
I didn't post here when this board was first made because it intimidated me.

I run a brownie themed twitch stream with about 500 or so followers. Most of which come for pony reasons. and have gone to pony conventions and appeared on panels on many occasions.
