Honestly it's not new and copies off so much shit, It could have been handled much better but overall it's definitely not the worst shit this series has every done, I mean most of the people on /mlp/ wouldn't have watched the movies if they didn't put the show name directly on the cover with the actual title but even though there were definitely some fucking stupid unnecessary themes and concepts and cringeworthy subplots and writing they at least brought a few new ideas to the table and tried experimenting even more to appeal to broader audiences even if it didn't work there were at least some people that enjoyed it and just had fun with it for what it was despite that it started for marketing purposes and not actually trying to be creative with it
