I can't recall them saying that, I think they said it was based off of animation and the toys still had "FiM" on them. So I'm not sure, considering that they did say some of them were based off of events in FiM and some different.

I think whatever arc the first part of GoH is going to be based on is based around Changelings. Then again Discord and the Wonderbolts are coming in, plus the Shadowbolts. So who knows?
