Eh. Spike's scene was cringe, but you knew it wouldn't have any lasting consequences. The Fluttershy scene really made you question what was gonna become of the characters' friendship in hindsight. I mean they all glossed over it, but in essence you're left wondering how much of it she really meant and how bad the other two took it to their heart.

It affected the lasting impression because man, now Discord really will never get any friends. All just to make Twilight upset? The concept of Discord "teaching" Twilight something as a roundabout way of pranking her is cringy as all Hell. It's like I'm watching one of those "It's just a prank, BRO" videos. I already think Discord is a waste most of the time, making it so he forgot the two most important lessons of his post reform as well as giving Twilight a characterization that is painfully outdated was dumb.Also all that writer did in S5 was take basic ideas from other episodes that handles similar concepts better and buttfuck them. Princess Spike was like, 90% on Dusedau, the concept didn't have to be as poorly done as he made it.
