She might take better to being in a more writing managerial position with a writer doing the bulk of the work, anyway. I think the point is, the game is right on schedule. If you read the IGG, this is like half the reason they did a crowdfund to begin with, to be able to hire contractors to work on this. That, and in order to not starve while working on the game full time.

To be completely honest, I think 95% of the people who are looking forward to this would be looking forward to it MORE if it was anything but a fighting game.
Which is a bit of a weird way to put it, because it just so happens to *be* a fighting game, like, one would not say "I'd like Street Fighter if it wasn't a fighting game". If this was not a fighting game, it would not exist alltogether, the devs wanted to make a fighting game so that's what they're making and nothing else.
And still, that having been said - people really only care about the characters, the story, the lore, the cute animations, hanging out in the visual lobby... and it seems everyone knows that, nobody even really tries to "hide" the circumstance that they are not a fan of fighting games but a fan of whatever it is Faust is currently working on, and this particular project in particular because of its pony heritage.
I don't even know where I'm going with this. I also have no idea why this is still a thing. Yet I am as excited about it as I was on the first day.

Hey, I don't doubt that when they specifically target fighting game fans, sit them down, put a controller in their hands and have them play the game, they get them to say that the gameplay is good. That it's got high quality mechanics, just like every other facet of the project is aiming to be of a high standard.
