Nope. Cheap sketchbook from craft supply store and ye olde Faber Castell pencils.
I sketch with a cheap light blue colour pencil, then line it with an 8B pencil. This time I decided to vary the line weight between outline and hatching to clarify the image a bit.

Well if you count minimized process, then they run in the background.If you read the docs minimized windows are just small windows sitting in the lower left corner, so there is not really any truely minimized window.
As for IE processes starting in the background, it could be hosted browser frames opening and closing. I am not sure about this. The WebBrowser control introduced in WinRT runs inside the app context via composition so it is truly contained. Thus IE processes don't start and close themselvesand I turned off Internet Explorer 11 in Windows Features.
