Now, people will go on and on about what specifically they like about the fetish, but basically what most of it amounts to is childhood trauma causing your brain to rewire a horror response with a pleasure response. In my case, it was a book that I think did it to me. It was required reading in, I don't know, fourth grade or something. In the book, a kid has a pet turtle. The kid's little brother swallows the turtle, and the turtle dies. That's it. That's all it took. My little kiddie brain was just so astounded by the cruelty and horror of this act that it rewired some shit and years down the line I now have some weird ass fucking fetish.
Anyway, a lot of people will tell similar stories and as a result give explanations as to why they like the fetish that are usually unsatisfactory, as everything they say that they like just sounds awful to anyone else. That being said though, not all of traumas are the same and therefore the attractions of vore will vary from person to person, depending on their type of trauma. Honestly, the best way to determine what someone gets out of the fetish is to figure out their trauma, and then just speculate based on that.
So that was a bit longer than I had planned. Note that this is based entirely off of observation and personal experience, and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt at least until you know for sure that it doesn't directly conflict with any actual psychology.
