I don't know why but I absolutely adore his work. The pony vocal synth songs and his original vocal tracks. Space pony, E30, E48, RD RA and Music Lovers all have over 5k plays each in my itunes library

The Standard Model is my favorite album. Period. Even considering non-pony related music. I just love it. It makes me feel safe and comfortable. It takes me to another place.

Thank God, I thought I was the only one who felt this way. I can't listen to more than ten seconds of his music without getting bored; it's like a fucking never ending Adult Swim bump. His use of sampling the show's dialog is definitely interesting, but it gets old very quickly. I feel like the majority of his fans are armchair intellectuals that believe his work has all these 6deep8u hidden meanings who are unaware that ambient has been a real genre of electronic music for fucking years.
To each their own, though; you're allowed to like things I don't. I just agree with >>25880568 that he's hardly the second coming of Christ and far from the genius people seem to worship him as.

This is a figure of speech, retard.
I'm sorry, but it feels that nearly every one of his tracks that I've ever listened to or have been linked to has, to me, been wholly unimpressive and generally immemorable. The entirety of "The Standard Model" sounds like a 30-minute Adult Swim bumper, and his lyrics (for those songs in his catalog which have them) come across as having been written by someone who is trying way too hard to be deep. I'd bet it's the kind of music that sounds a thousand times better if you're high.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's completely awful. It's okay to like what I don't like. I just agree with >>25880568 that the pedestal people put him on is way too high.

Personally SGaP never quite clicked for me. I enjoy NCAP, PPS, I like what's Oodorato putting out, I still follow Makkon even though he updates with new stuff only like once a year. Replacer's stuff is also nice. But SGaP... I dunno, in the Standard Model I love the instrumentals but don't like the voice splitting, in the others I can't get used to the vocals...
But anyway, what even happened to him? Is it known why he suddenly disappeared and deleted his songs?

He's just a mysterious mofo. He would always delete or hide his old songs after he made new ones. Other musicians seemed to have a lot of respect for him but I think they agree he's overrated. I agree though, we should just really have a fandom music general thread. This board is so obsessed with generals but I very rarely can find an active thread talking about music (which is my favorite part of the fandom).
