I prefer hobbling earthies or making them deal in some weak position, like injury or beyond their capability of endurance. Alternately, turning the tables and making it so the earth pony never gets the chance to make their strength or endurance a thing, sort of like using Judo or Jujitsu against the Hulk as it were.
The idea being that an earth pony cannot be restrained from their strength in a direct way, rather you are more effecting their mind.
Earth ponies are driven by progress, the ability to keep going forward and not be stopped. Attack that, make them doubt their selves, keep them turning on themselves thinking that they like being a slave, that its wrong to take pleasure in the tasks they do because it supports being a slave.
Make them their own enemy and thus break their strength, shatter their will.
IE, earth ponies are to be dealt with psychologically more than just chopping their legs off or breaking them.
This is a big reason people struggle writing good BDSM with earthies, they don't understand how much psychology there is going on and think its just random ropes in sexy poses that make for it all, a dom with a riding crop.
Its much more, its the loss of control, the giving it over to another or having it taken. The exposure of weakness and humility as much as it is letting the dom be strong, feel strong.

Actually I should expand on this, elaborate if you would. I write quite well, and have little issue speaking. A significant chunk of my posting here flies below anybody's radar and is never acknowledged as more than an anon posting.
This is as well as it should be given the rarity from which I use my trip. More and really on this, I don't use the trip much either as it is rarely needed.
My written word is quite good, those in the IRC or Dattebayo can atest to this fact, and rarely comes off as an issue if I should take my time writing. Time here being the operative word in whether or not I am making a nymph!post or anon!post.

True to the CmC's intentions usually going awry, the factors that caused the Stable's failure could be among many contrived things, a mutated crustacean getting caught and ruining the hydroponics system, exposing the inhabitants through the very tap water. The Overmare, adamant to keep the status quo or inadequately ignores the risk, does not inform the other stable dwellers rather than organize an evacuation.
Rapidly overtime, many inhabitants mutated features such as a hard exoskeleton, skittering legs, bodies contorting into a centaur-lobster like proportions. While not wild fauna, the eventual flooding nearly all the facilities in the Stable, and their need to forgo vocal speech to survive underwater rendered them no better than an illiterate tribe who have forgotten their own language and history, and an insatiable need to subsist on certain proteins.

But I also concur on Changelings substituting for the Institute in a FoE setting. Split on whether their gen 3 being merely a sentient breed of changeling infiltrators. Or changelings engineered where they are genetically ponies when they are born so they are immune to conventional of detection, and once their fulfill their purpose in the wasteland, they begin a slow, horrific metamorphosis back into changelings, leaving the possibility these changelings who once thought they were ponies to go renegade.

Arena: Last standing oak tree on Equestria's east coast that anybody could be arsed to find.
Reasons: Ralek wants to keep the tree so he stays sane, Blackjack just wants it to make a whiskey cask.

SATS and EFS, how would you reconcile these shitty game mechanics that were turned into plot devices? SATS is just a shitty excuse to explain why your Stable dweller who has never touched a firearm in their entire life is somehow able to do Max Payne dives and shoot straight to kill wastelands ponies: who have been in firefights all their life and likely have had to kill before.
Or the shit show that is EFS: the tension breaking device that literally means your character can't be snuck up on because they would see the red blimp behind them, and can know the exact positions of enemies in a firefight.

I abandon them really. EFS is downgraded from the derpy see all be all to just a decent sensor package, plus making use of it means always paying attention.So you can be snuck up on even if you are devoting all your time to the 10 meter bubble it makes.
Also, it has range, and guns have better range.
I figure Stableponies would get firearms training, they did go unnaground in a war after all. Sats itself should be an outside context thing for Wastelanders, its oldworld super tech after all.
Its issue is its relative shortlife, where you won't get more than a few shots off before its exhausted and it takes while to recharge. So no chaining, no running around head capping everything.
As well, magic nullifying weapons are somewhat common due to unicorns, and it works on all magic, but with varying intensity.
So one thing that would be done is chuck the grenade at the stable pony and neutralize all their advantages, and if they are in SATs when it goess off, they drop unconscious from the feedback.
