Perhaps I should have been more clear. My problem isn't so much on how long I boil something for, or how long I fry it. That, I can do rather decently. I mean, I'm probably not going to undercook or overcook that steak (too much), or turn the noodles to water. My problem is, cooking main courses is more about creativity and mixing it up in different ways. When I have to make a whole meal on different things, it beats me because I can't figure what would be good with what.
I see so many people coming up with dishes that look so varied and good like this >>25817851 and then I realize that, for some insanely retarded reason, I would never be able to come up with this combination of things to put them together and make something good. I don't know if this is normal either for anyone starting with cooking.

A slice of bacon, two eggs fried in the bacon fat, another slice of bacon, an entire diced potato half cooked in the fat, half in olive oil along with sliced mushrooms, half a zucchini, a quarter of an onion, half a green pepper, and a final slice of bacon to round it all out.

Everything we've seen about ponies eating meat is that its about as rare for them as pate and foie gras is to us. ponies rarely eat meat. its not even part of their basic eater lifestyle (if you don't know what a basic eater is, thank your lucky stars, if you are one, fuck you.)
Secondly, the kind of meat we've seen makes it clear that ponies don't eat meat for meat's sake. all of their meat options appear to take after germans, which isn't surprising when you consider that horses are one of the few furred mammals that sweat like us all over their body. they lose a tramendous ammount of salt. Cured meats are packed with salt and the protien is a bonus. Real horses can eat meat too. but if you are going to be eating hay and not getting sick you need a certain digestive system, and that kind of system isn't well adapted to meat at all, and can cause it problems. Ponies appear to have a faster and more robust digestion than horses (which are allergic to everything). which means in their early development eating what they could find was so important they'd eat shit they werent supposed to anyway.
Finally, the excistance of sausages as a prevelance means to them cuts of meat are very unpleasant. think about it. unlike us, most of the cuts they will see at the grocery store will match their body plan. When we talk about a delicious tenderloin, a pony who knows that cut will know she in fact has one just like it burried in her flesh. Do you have any idea how creepy that is? How off putting walking into a supermarket and being surrounded by pieces of four footed herbivours? the average pony wouldn't be able to handle this.
What is likely is Griffon imigrants set up delis that the ponies buy certain limited specialty goods from.

Last thing I cooked was pan-fried salmon with pepper.
All you need is:
2-4 salmon filets (small)
Salt
Pepper
**Season your salmon filets before you heat up the pan**
Pour in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan and wait till it heats up a bit.
Put in your salmon filets and cook one side for about 2 - 2 1/2 minutes.
Serve on a plate and you're done.
Hope this helps. And put in the salt and pepper to your taste.
