Anyways, things are going pretty good over here. I know I forgot to email last weekend; a lot has happened since you guys were at the house last so I'll try to update as best I can. It pretty much started 2 weeks ago; homecoming week at school. Even though I know that you always complain about it, I never go to school functions. I had no plans on changing that for this year's homecoming. But after getting getting sucked into some drama at school, I ended up meeting this one girl. I'll get back to her in a minute.

The football team was supposed to play a nobody team that Friday, but we ended up having to play Crystal Prep instead. Wheels, the guy who usually starts on tight end position (that's offense, remember?) got injured the weekend before the game, so Coach put me in for the starting position. And guess what?? I got the winning touchdown!! I'll send you a link for the news clip once I find it.

And yeah, I was on the news. No big deal.

During the week, the school voted for homecoming court. You'll never believe this, but I got voted homecoming king. That girl I mentioned? She got voted homecoming queen. At that point, I figured it would be a waste not to go to the dance so I agreed to go with her. We had hung out at times during the week and she even asked me out for a date earlier that day. Homecoming would be that date.

I took her to Godfather's back in Summertown and she met Vito and the gang. We went to the dance and it was pretty wild. Long story short, I had a good time. I guess you were right about some of the school functions being fun.

Her name is Sunset, by the way. She's pretty.. awesome. (At this point, I can practically hear your squee-laughter of excitement. Please contain yourself.) I'm not letting you meet her until you promise not to say anything embarrassing to her. Oh, and I'm burning my baby pictures before you even think about showing them to her.

Let's see, other things that happened since I last emailed:

Got punched in the face by a girl; not Sunset. (I'm fine.)
Got hit on the head by a helmet. (Went to the hospital; I'm fine.)
Went to Principal Celestia's office a few times. (Not in trouble; I'm fine.)
Went on another date with Sunset last night.

And no, I didn't forget to wash the dishes. Also, tell Dad that I got to drive a Camaro all of last Saturday. He'll flip out.

Bois, I'm afraid this is my stop. I'd like to thank all of you for popping my cherry, not only concerning the first 'drama' I've ever written but the first greentext I have ever written and the first smut scenes I've ever written. I'd like to thank everyone who read this story and a special shout out to those OGs who asked me to continue writing after I cautiously posted my first block of green way back on the first thread.

Funny; looking back at the original prompt, it was nothing like how the story ended up being. It was more like "All of the Mane 6 likes Anon at CHS, what happens?" But days after I started writing this, I just looked at the prompt and said, "Nah."

Months, long days and nights, a bit too much rough real life, and about 200,000 words later; we have this. I could have never imagined that this story would turn out to be what it became, as well as the following it created. Hell, I've made friends because of this story, believe it or not. That still blows my mind.

I've had many a praise and criticism along the way, more of the latter, and I've learned a ton since I started.

Since you guys are too OP Valve pls nerf, I'd like to invite you to ask me any questions you might have about the story, or basically anything other than personal questions. 1. Not at the beginning, no. Though to be fair, I had several options I was shooting for; this ending being one of them albeit a little deviated. It just took a few plot points to realize where I (for sure) would go with this. At the same time, I was working off of a prompt in a beginning instead of coming up with my own ideas. I don't even think Sunset was in the original prompt; imagine how different the story would have been.

2. Actually... not very often at all. Little details changed here and there but once I got the base idea for the ending I finished with, especially which girl Anon would like, I stuck to it. I mentioned before that I had scrapped an ending to anther anon, which in a sense is true. More or less I scrapped an important detail that would have completely changed the feel of the entire story.

3. No. I added some extra stuff for some of the popular requests such as a few extra scenes with RedHot, but I never changed important plot points for the anons. CYOA is a fun idea but with this many characters that would have been mind-numbingly difficult to write. In fact, I've been told a few times that Sunset's characterization caused some people to drop their waifus and want Anon to go for Sunset instead. That's some damn good feels right there.

I don't wanna say I was disappointed by the ending, because that's a fucking impossibility with this story. I'll just say I didn't agree with the way you chose to end it.

I was expecting the ending to cover Sunday, Monday, and maybe Tuesday. That we'd get to see how all the other characters spent their weekend after prom. Who got laid by who, who wound up in serious relationships, and so forth.

Not sure how I feel about the time skip, or the fact that Anon waited until CHRISTMAS to start calling Sunny his girlfriend! Or that we didn't get to hear either of them tell each other "I love you" until years later.

As for the proposal, after a guy turns down a threeway with two other girls, and his girl makes him breakfast in bed the morning after, that's about as solid a relationship as two high school sweethearts could possibly hope for. So the two of them having a lasting long term relationship and eventually getting married, is pretty heavily implied by those factors alone.

It kinda reminded me of how FF7 ended. Kinda, but still much better.

Even so, I still like how it ended, and how you set up for a potential sequel based in Equestria. There are so many reasons to get hyped for that! I would personally hope Anon get's to be a pegasus. Although being a big muscle bound meat-head, he'd probably be an earth pony as big as Big Mac. Although these prophetic dreams he keeps having could mean he'd be a unicorn. Who knows?

But with everything said and done, it was a fantastic story! And particularly impressive given it's your first one, and that you pretty much made it up as you went along for the majority of it. So in closing, I'd like to quote Nicholas Cage by saying;

This is basically the only point I have a rebuttal for. Emphasis on 'hear' rather than assuming it never happened before. After years of being together, who wouldn't have said "I love you" by then?

Everything else is spot on, and my only response is, depending on the topic, either style or time-constraint. It was either that or I would have had to leave you guys hanging for another month or so, maybe longer, before you saw the epilogue. I tried to figure out a way were the important concepts were laid down while leaving some parts open to your imagination. For instance, if I asked you if Norman got laid, your response would be as right as anyone else's. Maybe she got nervous and chickened out, or maybe he did. Oh my god, the feels. I knew I would feel at the end of this, but I didn't know it would be this much.
Absolutely wonderful, FR. I am so happy to have shared this moment with everyone here with this magnificent story.
This whole ride has been great, I had the tabs to this story open ever since the first thread. (Someone on Skype linked it a while ago).

Anyway, I just got finished with an exam and will start up a new thread after I have the few posts of green I have prepared. I do have another exam and a bus ride tomorrow, but I'm posting anyway because I did say tomorrow yesterday. So I'll be continuing Time After Time like many of you wanted me to pretty much within the hour. Maybe in just a few minutes. I'll link the new thread in here too.

What was the most difficult part for you to write in the story? At what point did you feel "this is it", in other words, a big turning point for your writing where you couldn't change the outcome without compromising the integrity of your story?

You mentioned this was your first story which was influenced by Time After Time. How often would you go back to it and take an idea and help share one of your own, if at all?

1. The most difficult part of writing this story was literally hitting the 'this is it' point, and having about 75,000+ words left to go before I could hit all of the plot points and finish with a smidgen of grace. Which is to say, because of the topic of the story, there are only so many ways you could twist and turn it while still operating somewhat logically.

2. This story wasn't at all influenced by Time After Time; rather, Time After Time made me want to write green. After reading what Grey had finished, I thought, "Maybe I should try writing on here..."
I just found a prompt I found to be relatively interesting and started posting. So to answer your question, I never actually read his story to get an idea for my own. I understand that given the similarities that may sound a bit unbelievable, but I honestly didn't. I finished (what was completed of) Time After Time far before I started this story. In fact, I do mostly the opposite. I can't read other stuff while I'm writing because I hate having the urge to copy someone else's idea.

3. Yes, absolutely. There are days when I have the worst writer's block known to man, or I just don't feel like writing. When writing un-posted prose, this isn't an issue. You can take a week off and no one would know the different before you post the final version. Green writing is a completely different beast. I coped with this by either taking a single day off of posting, or I took a long break to get my mind off of the story. Like, taking a walk, watching a movie, playing a game currently, Elite: Dangerous and so forth.

In what will most likely surprise everyone who read this story, I'm much more of a sad/dark story writer. Setting aside the hundreds of posts where my inner troll wanted to put something down that would absolutely ruin the story, I thought about doing an alternate ending where everything doesn't work out for Anon in the worst ways, which is where the story would get /real/ dark. I won't explain it too much, but Rainbow has a bad time. I decided against it because of time, and because even if I had the time... if you read the alternate version, it would ruin the original ending for you... because of how dark the alt would have been.

Combining the first and last question together for an example I can never get out of my head.

After Anon gave mercy to Rainbow, I wrote out a huge and detailed scene of Anon in Celestia's office having what would turn into a heart to heart. Nothing romantic, but honest. It would turn warm, possibly feelsy. It was several posts long... and I had to scrap it because it didn't fit in the story at all due to the circumstances that had just happened. Writing scenes that you love and putting hard work and detail into, only to have to trash it completely is the /worst/.

They eventually did have somewhat of a heart to heart at the dance, but it wasn't the same.

I cannot thank you enough for writing this. Seriously. Honestly, I ignored the first few threads since I wasn't in the mood to read anything and I just thought "Ah forget it, it's just an EQG-Story".

Boy, was I wrong. After checking the /mlp/ Secret Santa daily, I started to notice that this "Homecoming Anon" Thread wasn't going away anytime soon, and two days before, I started reading it on your pastebin.

I was hooked. I read whenever I had the chance to - at the bus stop, at home, while my GF watched TV (and most importantly, when she was not here)....
