I have returned to the /mlp/ board after four years, that's not to say that I haven't been involved in pony things because I have been daily though most of my exposure has been EQD drawfriends and music posts. That is to say very little interaction with other fans. About six months ago I came back to channel4 and /pol/ caught me, and pony is the only form of degeneracy which I can stand anymore. After six months of /pol/ being my main board and doing a quite a bit of research (not on /pol/, never take anything for face value) on how screwed the world is, who's fault it was, and the rewriting of history, the amount of cynicism and dislike of my fellow man I feel has hit such an incredible high point that I need a more happy/carefree enviroment to replace some of the politics; especially because I can't even look forward to the weekly new episode for the next ~11 months. So after so long it was inevitable that a post would direct me to this board eventually, and I was reminded of how good the company used to make me feel.
I assume that /mlp/ has settled down since the storm of being given it's own board four years ago and I have many questions I would like to ask to help reacclimate:
• What is with the hostility from /mlp/ toward EQD?
• Is it still acceptable to use /) as a greeting to other cult members?
• What is /mlp/'s general opinion of where the show came from and where it is going? Rate the seasons? Panda ring?
• Is the population of /mlp/ still super critical and negative toward the show?
• Does the typical cultist here find ponies attractive or is it the standard "loud minority" situation?
• After four years, has an accurate definition for clop been established yet? Is it anything involving the
characters? does it have to be a pone? If it is anthro, it is considered furry or is it it's own category?
• Is it still cool to use "pone" as a replacement for pony?
• Are we as autistic as we used to be? moreso?
• Is the comraderie still alive and well?
• Has the quality of fan projects in your opinion gone down?

The season five finale felt really shoehorned toward the end.

I can't answer for the rest of /mlp/ but I'll give my own thoughts.

The two communities don't mesh well. EQD's default assumption is that things will improve, /mlp/'s default assumption is that things will get worse.

I don't know where you're getting "cult members" from, but we still use /) on special occasions.

General opinion is that seasons 1 and 2 were good, season 3 was bad, then seasons 4 and 5 were good again- at least, among those who still enjoy the show. Personally my favorite seasons are 2 and 5. No one can agree about pandering. I don't care about it myself.

Sort of. There are still a lot of people who complain about one part of the series or another, but a greater percentage of the board seems willing to appreciate MLP despite its flaws now.

As far as I can tell, clop is when you fap to MLP characters. It doesn't need to be full pone.
