Construction is the preliminary sketch with simple shapes such as spheres and cylinders that builds up the thing you're drawing. Essentially a simplified skeleton. You use construction to make sure that proportions and shape are correct. It's at this point you want to be corrected by others, not when the line art is finished.

I need some general advice on ponies laying down like pic related. IGNORE THE HEAD. It's simply a placeholder. I'm really trying to give them more of a chub but am at a loss on how to do it.
It's really hard to find chubby pony references in a similar pose that isn't anthro so I've had to work from my fairly weak imagination. Fucking ridiculous.

To be honest, I'm still kinda figuring this one out myself. There is plenty of foreshortening going on from this angle, and personally I find it a bit tricky to wrap my head around.
I'd suggest you try to figure out the pose from other angles to create a better three dimensional idea of this pose.

Take what you've learned from human bodies and heads and apply it to pone. Experiment a lot. Does your teacher emphasis the importance of understanding how the features and nuances of the skeleton are important?

It's important to make lots of errors so that you know what looks "wrong" and can learn and grow from it. Take it a step at a time. Everyone starts somewhere. Drawing once and being upset with it isn't the path to victory. Keep drawing, following references and whatnot. Eventually your hands will get used to the proper motions of drawing, and you'll grasp things better.

no offense, but the only disadvantage you're at is that most of the people here asking for critiques don't quote themselves correcting grammar. The focus on getting better instead of checking their post after it's already gone through. Again, if you're going to post and look for critiques go ahead and do that. Otherwise plainest yes no game in regards to actually attempting a drawing is only going to piss people off. Poster drawing asked for critiques and then apply them. Take people's advice into consideration even if you don't want to do them, such as figure drawing at least 20 minutes a day. The road to success and successful drawings begins with the elimination of your pity party and the application of good hard effort. Again I'm not trying to bash on, just tell me what needs to be done if you want to become a successful artist. Also use a single reference, not multiple references.

I know from personal experience that I'm my biggest challenge. Whether it's depression or laziness. I'm the problem if I'm drawing like shit or can't draw something.

I get the feeling you're making part of the cranium stick out too much, giving your skulls a weird shape. That cheek is definitely sticking out too much, again, giving the skull an odd shape. The eyes are also not set in the skull properly for the perspective you gave the entire work.
As I said before; I really like your bodies and I think it's a good style as long as you're being consistent with it. The thing is you need to imagine these very thin limbs and how they'd look on a pony that was doing a simple, standing pose and think to yourself if they make sense. And if they dont' make sense; perhaps finding a way to make them make sense and keep the style is a better way. There's a lot of depth and form in your bodies that I wish I could get in my own works.
If I were to recommend anything it would be to practice pony heads and work on softening up those muzzles just a bit. If you want them to be blocky, find a way to make them less on the uncanny valley side of things and learn to connect the jawline to the neck properly. Maybe draw a couple of heads attempting these fixes and post the result and we can provide feedback.

This is a very crude method and I'm sure there's a better way to approach it but I would start by just tracing over the image, finding out where the joints are in relation to each other and finding out the major forms of the body. After tracing I would sketch off to the side, using the traced parts as a guide and just play with the pose until I can get it proportioned like a pony.
Judging from where the back of the skull meets the spine in relation to where the tail is, the body is indeed twisting a bit so maybe try to figure a way to incorporate that.

I really loved that one. Especially the mane. If I were to redo it there wouldn't be that big of a difference other than maybe some of the facial proportions changing.
If anything I'd want to redo the sitting luna from June, Twilight in a box from January, or those two from April.
