To the medication (and brain) it's out of the norm so the medication will do it's job and re-balance the chemicals in your brain, necessary to make tuplamancy work, and hinder the whole process. For some, like me, on the medication it's really difficult to make tulpas as we can't communicate and for others it's downright impossible.

I would recommend watching blind reactions on youtube to the show. Find someone who started at season 1 and watch them discover the show for the first time. It gives you a little but of that spark you felt the very first time you got into the show.
At least it did for me.
