Because this is an older bored and has more priority over /trash/. Not to mention that it takes away from the fact /trash/ is meant to be off topic and a general dumping ground for several different boards. And one of the original arguments of taking it out of /b/ was because it wouldn't be random if it was the same thing over and over again. Even though they are nothing but rekt threads and trap threads. That and /'mlp/ would take up a rather healthy chunk of their catalog. And it would completely dominate trash past the HungerGames faggots if the whole board got consolidated.
It would make just as much sense to keep the boards as they are right now.

Season 5 just ended. The comics are around twice a month, but that doesn't cause an influx of discussion threads either. I wish we did have more discussion threads, but no matter how hard I try to keep it up they always die out in a few days max.
If you start a thread that asks a controversial question about the series or borderline baits for responses, you will get them.

Season 5 ended a week and a half ago. Typically you'll see a good episode being discussed for maybe 5 days after it premieres if you're lucky. When a whole board is centered around one series you can imagine that we tear through new stuff rather quickly.
Comic storytimes can last for 3 days sometimes and discussion usually doesn't go past it's own thread unless it's particularly bad. In both cases the memes are going to be more enduring than any discussion from a piece of content, but I'd guess that's standard across 4chan.

I find show discussion on mass scale, like here or on forums, to be really scattered and difficult to keep track of. If you want more productive and streamlined show discussion, find friends and talk on Skype or something.

honest answer. Yes, we do actually. But the show has been discussed so many times (and usually right after each episode airs) that there is no more stuff to discuss. Yes, you might find some show discussion here and there, but it's not common and it will be less and less usual as we get deep into the hiatus.
If you want some anons are making a "/mlp/ Rewatchs MLP" thread every weekend to rewatch old episodes and re-discuss them there.
