I think that claiming that earth is some super special planet that is the only one in the universe to ever have a single living thing on it is the more extraordinary of the two claims.
One requires the assumption that in the massive universe earth is somehow special and we are special beings for being the only living things in the universe.
The other makes no such assumption and assumes we are not special and the same physics that created life here probably happened somewhere else only differently and so far away we will probably never actually see it.

It is confirmed life can exist on a planet with a relatively stable environment. It is confirmed that such planets aren't exceptionally rare. It is confirmed that there are an absurd amount of planets.
Ayys aren't proven to exist, but based on the currently available data, they seem likely to exist. Even if most of them would probably just be microbial. In the end, it seems far more likely than not that we are not alone in the universe.
