Given that Hasbro now, after 5 years, goes after dailymotion too, I'd say medium for the videos on the German one as they just embed dailymotion, low for the French one since they host the videos themselves, and low for yayponies since they link stuff and are hosted on lots of different servers. However it's hard to say without knowing what Hasbro's stance on watching through the Internet is, since it does give lots of exposure to the show to have it easily accessible.
I'm however planning to finally download all episodes since they did start going after dailymotion, so they might eventually go after small sites. It's pretty unlikely though, given that stuff like watchcartoonsonline exists. I'm just paranoid. I keep telling myself that if I eventually buy the episodes, it'll all even be nicely legal to have them downloaded in proper quality since I would have paid for them at some time.
So uh.... discussing the episodes. I guess this is sort of natural for a pilot, all the main characters feel kind of off to me in episodes 1 and 2, different from how they are in the rest of the series, like they're still just prototypes. Spike is more like a little kid, like how he can't spell long words, something that never happens again. Rainbow is way to giggly in her first encounter with Twilight. Compared to the rest of the season, Rarity is more generous, Fluttershy is more shy and has a fascination with Spike that never comes up again, Applejack is perkier. Pinkie's about the same though.
The plot of episode 2 is pants-on-head retarded, as I'm sure you know, with each of Nightmare Moon's attempts to stop the Mane 6 from reaching the castle being weaker than the last and some of the characters acting nonsensically for the sake of having a moment where they demonstrate their element. And you can say what you like about all the villain reformations in seasons 3-5, but at least now they do it by reasoning with them instead of blasting them with rainbows that turn them good. Fuck off Lauren, that's not how good and evil work. I can accept the bad guy being defeated by the power of the good guys' friendship because friendship can conquer anything and I can accept the bad guy being reformed by being offered friendship, but this just doesn't make sense on a symbolic level.
But just so I don't shit on these episodes too hard, here are some things I did like

Especially Applejack's. Like seriously, I never got how saying "Trust me" over and over instead of "The pegasi will catch you" makes her believable and honest.
Also yeah, Nightmare Moon's reformation makes Starlight's backstory and reformation look amazing in comparison (not that I think they were as bad as some Anons here seem to think, but they weren't exactly great either). At least her backstory is great.

Actually, I LOVED the characterizations in the first episode. We got an introduction to all the characters, and to me the fact that we got different character features in later episodes was the show telling us that characters can have more than one feature, and that they can grow.
Only Spike felt too different to me.
Also, I really liked pissed off Twilight. Her snark slowly lessened over the course of season one, and I still kinda miss it.
