Fans usually aren't that bad, sure they are demanding, but it is only because they love something so much they want it to be perfect.

What foolish elitism is it that claims only those who complain the loudest are good fans? This correlation of negativity with intelligence seems mistaken to me. /mlp/ is a place so hostile to anything it deems autistic that most all fan works outside of pornography are looked down on, and as a result, it produces very little outside of its chosen niche. If the whole fandom were governed by such principles, it would be an infinitely less creative place, and while no part of the community is without its own issues, I am glad that other places exist which can receive new ideas without instantly assuming the worst about the creators and tearing the whole thing to pieces.
Perhaps if fewer people around here were so concerned with looking down on everyone else, with calling anything shit that retains even a perceived trace of a flaw, those outside the site would be more willing to hear what criticisms we offered.
