>Starlight Glimmer's character is ruined because Hasbro wants to be able to sell her as a toy
When will they learn to make the toys based on the show and not the inverse?

>Implying that Starlight wasn't introduced into the series for the sole purpose of being reformed in the finale

Because hasbro cares more about the toy franchise than the show itself.

Because Hasbro is living in the past.
If you look at the hottest toys right now, they are universally based on a good media franchise. Disney toys sell like hot cakes, Star Wars is fucking huge, Cars toys are huge, Marvel toys are huge. The future of toys is merchandise.
But the reason all that merchandise sells is because the stories themselves are entertaining. There's obviously some executive meddling to make things easier to merchandise, but generally people are hands-off. Why? Because kids like media and want to buy toys based off good media. If you fuck with your show/movie/game to sell toys, it's going to cease being good media and you will sell less. In the end, you're only fucking yourself.

Hasbro should honestly die out. MLP will go to hell with it but atleast the industry will be free of that shitty company.

So what you're saying is they need more transformers movies directed by Michael Bay in order to have enough money to produce our tiny horse show?
