If you shop smart, you can build a desktop that is decently more powerful than an xbone or ps4 for $600. I'm on my phone so I don't have a pic of mine, but I went super overboard on my build with SLI and water cooling.

Start researching. That's the most fun part of building a PC. Finding compatible parts, learning about the internals, learning about generations, discovering price to performance.. Go on Youtube. Linus Tech Tips, NCIX, and JayZtwoCents are all decent resources. Tom's hardware or PC part picker. It's really not that complicated. But like other Anons said, if you shop smart you can easily get a computer more powerful th$an a console. There are vids on Youtube of 400 builds that out perform consoles in FPS, resolution, and textures.

Probably not. I learned really fast that the Con scene just isn't for me. Too many egos there. I'd probably only go to a con if I was invited. Otherwise it's a waste of time for me. It's model 5571. I'm missing like 5-6 pieces for it. A chrome piece here, a small ladder there.. I actually spent around 18 hours straight organizing my entire bucket of Lego by piece just to find all the pieces to build the set. I'd love to buy more Lego but they're the most inflated over priced plastic pieces you can buy. That's why I do K'nex now. Not nearly as expensive. 8,800 pieces in a K'nex set for ~$300 vs something like the Lego Star Destroyer is 3,100 pieces for well over $2,000 now. Millennium Falcon around $5,000.
