You know this timeline didn't really seem that bad all things considered. There's no major cause of strife, no one seems to have been forced into slavery. It didn't even seem that totalitarian or oppressive considering they have fucking VISITING HOURS FOR TOURIST. Just the fact they can even support a tourist industry. Sure there's the eternal night thing and it might not be as good as regular Equestria but I would totally live there.

She's probably in the same vein as Dr. Doom with her benevolence, despite actually being a batshit megalomaniacal asshole in-person. Which fits her character perfectly, really.
