Eh, I never really saw how it was any more childish than FIM. And yeah, it is a bit slower paced, due to the lack of fantasy/grand adventure type stuff. It's a lot like S1 of FIM: Very heavy on slice-of-life stories.
And also very heavy on 1-shot characters, with almost every single episode introducing a new one.
