I think both Soarin and Discord are going to be tied with Dash and Fluttershy with at least one episode in the series.
If Dash graduates and join Wonderbolts then Soarin, FleetFoot and Spitfire are going to interact with her. Possibly even create a team consisting of Spitfire/Soarin/Dash.
And if Discord ever going to help saving the day, it will either going to be triggered by Fluttershy who need help. And even if not, she will still going to be proud of him since his reformation is also part of her arc.
Other shippings aren't this much rooted into the storyline. Cheese Sandwich is voiced by a star who usually never do cameo in a same show twice. And Trenderhoof was treated like Blueblood which make him an obvious anti-candidate in writer's eyes.
