The rise of a pop star - it seems meteoric, but there's not too much of a frame of reference. Ponyville's usually the center of attention and, for as diverse a population as it boasts, it's still not really known as the trendiest spot around. Rarity may make stides in that department, but if it's mass appeal, it's got to be where the masses are. That means Manehattan and Las Pegasus, most likely (Canterlot's more upscale). A pony's cutie mark is a part of themselves. IT is immutable. Circumstances might change for how it manifests itself, but I believe that it's something that's always a part of the pony.What I believe will happen is that Starlight will go back, prevent the rainboom, see that the cast eventually get their cutie marks regardless, and then make even bigger changes to the timeline in response.
