I d guess it d be to cover more area, never played Marco Polo myself but if one is allowed to move after the chaser said Marco then it d be pretty hard to catch anyone out of the water since they d simply dodge away
Also from what I got I d say the cat and mouse part wasnt planned at all by anon, it was just Twilight finding a way to join the fun
Anyway I would have liked if there was a ketchup ending, like if Derpy actually hit anon with one of those excessive strikes
