I'd be okay with another episode that uses some ideas from the fandom, but Slice of Life works in large part due to how surprising it is and you can't do that the same way twice. If they told a more normal story involving some of the characters from the episode, that'd be fine.

Having everything revolve around Cranky Doodle's wedding was also a mistake I think. The name of this episode was Slice of Life, which to me means the everyday happenings, a day like any other. Well a wedding, even for an ancillary character, is a pretty big deal, especially when its being attended by Royalty and monsters. This last point may just be me being an obsessive faggot, but I think the episode didn't end up feeling natural because of it, which is probably the biggest problem it had. The whole episode ended up feeling very forced and artificial, which may have been the point since it was a intended as a nod to the fans, but I think everyone would have preferred an organic story line with characters being allowed to develop naturally through the course of the episode rather than having a thousand headcanons and fanfictions superimposed over the episode.
