What is wrong with simple from time to time? It's funny though, usually I like it better when stories are all about muh lore, but I think it's great that mlp sometimes steps away from that. Just delivering small but entertaining stories. The show was a lot more like that in S1, but as of late it's getting slightly more dark and complicated. I think it's a welcoming development, but I'm also happy they still know how to write cute stories as well.
