I've got this idea for a CYOA. Where you would play as 3 MC's and their companion in a corrupt city under a tyrranical rule. Who will affect things that change throughout the city.
I can't decide on the occupation's for the characters. Two of them are City Guard's, and I can't decide on the other 4 characters occupation's, Two lower class jobs and 2 upper class jobs. Any advice.

The way I see it, you should only give your players death if the decisions they're making deserve it.
For example, the players once rolled three consecutive critfails on a D20, but they were making the right decisions, so I rewarded them with success, but gave a little extra negative that didn't directly impact the character's health.
