Twilight Sparkle might have a somewhat different range defining what constitutes fun to her, but her friends are fairly used to it by now. Spike should really expect it, even, what with how long he's been living with her. And she's self-conscious enough to be aware that few share some of her particular passions. Still, it's always nice when she can share that time with someone who cares. It's great practice for the next time she comes across an extra optimization for the library!

I liked this episode. It examined one of the little things about relationships I hadn't really thought of. This was certainly better than my expectations I guess the writer really did learn to improve from his previous effort.

Back in season 2, Twilight used a time travel spell that allowed her to return to the past for about one minute (It's About Time). I would assume that Twilight would need a reference to the part in time she needed to return to.If Starlight Glimmer needed a reference to the six's previous adventures, there's one dangling in the castle throne room now, where Starlight is seen in the preview clip.
We've had a whole bunch of episodes revolving around flashbacks. These are:

In the two episodes where Starlight has been seen, she's been spying on Twilight: once when she was with Moon Dancer at dinner, and when Twilight was reminding Pinkie not to mess with time travel (which the two have experience with).
Then the CMCs. In both episodes where they played the lead, they were helping ponies rediscover their special talents. These were Appleloosa's Most Wanted and Crusaders of the Lost Mark. "There's so much more still left to learn about yourself. See the light that shines in you, we know you can be somepony else." During Starlight's breakdown in the second episode, she references individuality (and therefore cutie marks) as not just symbols of inequality, but of superiority. "You'd all still be living your miserable lives thinking you're better than everypony else!"Her special talent might be that she's a pony of justice, fighting inequality and helping raise other ponies to be on equal footing, but her tragic past and misunderstand of her talent means she instead brings ponies DOWN to the same level.
So, current questions:

How do you think Shimmer is going to fuck up the timeline? So maybe the six are forced to relive certain key events but differently, looping over and over until they realize what's going on?
