I always felt bad for MAS fluttershy. something really bad clearly happened to her at some point during her youth and now she was just desperate to not have people mad at her for trivial reasons. then this new cunt who continually abuses you moves into town and she deliberately pretends to not remember who you are and the only person who ever corrects you isn't your one actual friend from school, it's the girl you barely know who compulsively tells the truth about everything. also you're not particularly good at the one thing that's supposed to be your special talent and a rabbit is playing some kind of psycho-sexual mindgames with you
I dont know why MAS twilight hates her so much. I mean yeah, people like fluttershy can be annoying in real life, but usually the way to react to that is just mild irritation. I wonder if its just her venting her stress at being celestia's whipping girl on the only person who will always put up with it.
thats part of why I liked sydney in the mechwarrior videos. her dynamic with the twilight analogue was similar, but it was much more clear that sydney had legitimate reasons to be upset with her situation--she was a medical officer who through a series of bureaucratic mix-ups ended up being shoved into a giant killer robot and forced to go against everything she believed in and kill a bunch of people (many of whom were child soldiers). eventually she started standing up for herself a little more, and would even get a bit snarky when her superiors were acting particularly stupid.

I think that's definitely a tension in the show, but I don't think she'll go in that direction in the end. At the end of the "first season" of MAS, Twilight had mellowed out substantially, apparently as a result of hanging around other ponies for a while. hopefully that will happen in the reboot too.
