2012 /mlp/ was still much more enjoyable to browse on. It was more active back then and the community seemed more alive. Now it seems like we've just stagnated, and are just continually rehashing the same threads. There were lot's of memorable tripfags great moments too, don't have too many of those nowadays.
The one thing old /mlp/ had over new /mlp/ is that it wasn't ALL fetish generals.
There was so much actual show discussion and speculation.
The endless Too Many Pinkie Pies ethics threads were probably the most fun I've had on /mlp/

As a whole 4chan is actually pretty slow, no matter what bored you browse. It's like getting a new car, at first it's really cool, but than after like a month you realise it just gets you to where you're going.
Same with 4chan, at first it all seemed so fast, now that you're use to it, it just helps you get to where you're going.
