She's actually doing a damn-near perfect costume for whatever the Pegasus equivalent of Athena is- so ancient Greek (Pony version) in this case. It's a nice nod- both of them have an owl familiar, are winged versions of their original species (Athena is often portrayed as a winged human, Twilight is a now-winged unicorn), and both are considered aspects of wisdom and knowledge.
