These look pretty neat.
hack n slash combat could work in a top-down or isometric game. You can add jumping, running, you can even add flying and 3dimensional depth to a degree.

It always brings me a bit of sadness seeing people put so much effort into making these kinds of games only for them to be relevant for a week max.
