just a regular intuos, I managed to smooth out the edged of the nib so it doesn't scratch anymore but I dunno if I can just grab a cloth with some abrasive and buff the remaining scratches. I can draw regardless of the scratches, theyre just anoying.

hmm, i'd suggest something like adhesive shelf liner. it would give a better surface than trying to sand/buff scratches. I've also heard of people using paper to cover their tablet, especially if you want a less smooth surface [it's also really cheap]

Being late is much better than not doing it at all, just don't expect getting a good grade. Let's start with the anatomy on the left.
You places the tail at the right place but with the way those shorts are, major butt crack will be showing. Either make the shorts have a tail hole, or just keep it as is. I don't know man. The head should be raised a bit higher, it makes it look like the neck is either non existent or very small. I get it, anthro and shit. That throwers angle should have more weight applied to the right leg. Trust me, I've been in track. Now to the right...
That right hind leg is all sorts of goofy, more towards the crotch area. Crotch should be more behind the thigh area. Make the line extend higher and over the groin. Shoulders don't overlap that way. The line that goes down is an armpit, not part of the shoulder. Foreleg thats throwing should be more bumpy and have more depth to it, not Popeye arms. No insult.
Shading is getting there. Try making the shadow lines go in one direction or the other, like crosshatching. They look like hairs and I personally like my ponies silky smooth. Work on your shadows more. Try drawing from life to understand shadow values accurately.

Like another anon said, look into hatching. A youtuber by the name Alphonso Dunn is an excellent pen/ink artist who does terrific hatching and crosshatching tutorials. Your lighting is great but the hatching you have right now gives the effect of a very hairy texture. I actually like the effect but I don't think that's what you were going for.

Pic related is what I'm talking about. You can make a basic square without this perspective shit but it can help.
Things to note:

>vertical length of the legs from the body to the floor are about the same length as the head
>body has the smallest vertical length and is about 1.5 heads long
These are FIM proportions so there's room for experimentation. The more you experiment the more likely you'll have a few accidents that end up looking good. I can't count the number of happy accidents I've had that end up working out.
