It was never meant to exclusively be "anonymous", or else the option to use a name never would have existed. It's a bit of a dumb cultural development to begin with, as it's the substance of a post and not the name attached people should be focusing on.
Furthermore, it's interesting to note how the vocal majority comes to a consensus to decide when it's "appropriate" to use a name, completely disregarding that it's a form of censorship enforced by what is perceived as popular opinion for the sake of preserving a portion of the userbase's feelings.
But of course, I don't subscribe to such culturally enforced standards or I wouldn't be pestering porn threads to begin with. Others are unfortunately shackled by their need to fit in, which is rather hilarious in respect to how much users here boast about not conforming to normal society.

I've had plenty of interactions with other namefriends where I weighed the substance of their post without considering the persona of a name.
Of course it's there, and of course it has a possibility of affecting how someone reads the post. I'm not saying cultural perception is either right or wrong, just that I disagree with it in this particular case.
The way I see and use 4chan is as a forum for open and nonrestrictive dialog and discussion, regardless of if a user goes completely anonymous or utilizes the name feature. Some don't like seeing a name, and they are perfectly free to censor what they see by filtering it. They would be the only ones missing out on discussion by blocking it from themselves.
It becomes a whole other issue when these same people try to enforce arbitrary standards against something they don't like, as moot said: "People come here to have fun, but it should not be at the expense of other users".
