It's just that everyone forgot about him until a few days ago, then everyone suddenly started circlejerking about him again and bringing only him up when people say pony music's bad. The sudden burst in this trend is just people spewing the same praises they just saw someone else use.

His favorites has some alright music. There's a whole list of similar music, but le warning: it's from leddit.

H-his stuff is amazing, in my opinion. It's up there on my list, even with non-pony music to compete with.

It's just taste, I guess.
>>
>>19029121

It's weird. Everyone who knew him just kind of stopped talking about him. Half the people he collaborated with no longer make music or even seem to exist. He just kind of disappeared.

Looking back, the last music thing he did was a Destroyer cover, the last art thing he did was for Facexplodie's Doe Eyes and the last thing thing he did was favorite an AndTheRainfall video.

Maybe I'm just looking too much into it.
>>
>>19029732
Maybe something happened to him?

Who knew him? Maybe we could message them to see what happened to him.

But, I guess it's highly likely people already tried doing that to no avail.

This happens all the time, somebody posts about X thing and a bunch of other people start posting about it for a short time. It's just people in the mood to post that thing, they get their fix, and move on, until it's mentioned again after a long time, then it repeats. It isn't just SGAP. It's with everything.

>>19029732
You're not the only one anon. I've been looking everywhere, looking into every piece of information I can find. I have nothing to show for it though. He's just gone man, poof. The last thing I remember is him posting problem areas by Oneohtrix Point Never on his tumblr.

And this track makes me feel a little melancholy, along with the good feelings. Maybe it's just the title.
http://notacleverpony.bandcamp.com/track/my-little-pony-theme-farewell-party-remix

If you've listened to SGaP, you know of PinkiePieSwear, yeah? Can't go wrong with his "Giggle at the Ghostly" remix and "Flutterwonder".

I haven't been paying any attention to fan music since 2012. I'm sure this thread's other anons' recommendations of newer artists have some gems in them.

Yea I've seen that. I really want to know what happened to him, it bothers me to think that he isn't making music anymore. Sometimes I wonder if he just wanted to get away from the pony stuff and didn't want anyone to know about his new alias. But from what I've seen about him, it doesn't seem like something he would do.

He could still be working on UnmakeableLove, as he said it was a "long term project." It was mentioned on the Archival Initiative Tumblr:

http://sgaparchivalinitiative.tumblr.com/
>>
>>19029943
it's exactly what he'd do

he thinks most of his stuff is shit, so naturally he'd want to test whether it is shit by posting it under a pseudonym so people who only like him because he's "popular" won't instantly clamor over his new stuff.

more likely he got a music related job and had to stop uploading shit or he killed himself
>>
>>19029987
well of course it's long term
it's unmakeable, after all

>>19030000
Yea maybe. He really cared about MLP though, like his pony music was never just music with pony thrown in to attract more views or some shit. Almost every song was either the retelling of an episode, or about a pony. It had emotion to it.
>>
>>19030050
>Surprised that someone with a fixation on ponies would kill themselves.
Nigga, when grown men (like you and me) resort to ponies for escapism, it means we are already fucked in the head something major.
It could have been videogames
or Annie may and mango
or Comics
But we chose to flee to a cartoon meant for little girls, and that says alot.

>Very surprised to find this thing on EQD today, by the way. Gosh, the people who send this stuff are really awesome! It’s just so incredibly nice of you guys to take the time, to go out of your way, to share this stuff with others at no real benefit to yourselves. Thank you guys so much! Okay, that’s it. I’ll be quiet now. Thanks again to everyone for pretty much being the biggest joy in my life right now.

>You guys rock. That’s all I can say. Nothing can keep me from loving this show or this community.

>Now, I do have fun making music, but I do not make music with fun as the goal. The ultimate goal is always to impress you guys: art has no meaning without an audience.

>Plus, this track was very much meant for you initial 2046 (give or take a few) specifically! It was always your kind words that sparked me to keep enriching the sound of the songs; and it was always somehow you guys — most of whom I do not know at all — with whom I tried to make communion through the songs.

It seems like he mostly cared about the people he already knew.

>>
>>19030335
>the NSFW one
In the source post, the artist put a link to a little rationale he wrote about why he made the piece. I think the idea behind the piece is neat.
>“Null Feelings.” is a piece about the solitary side of the Sexual Experience. Null is alone with her eyes closed. She is alone in a dark theater set after hours. There is no other. Behind her looms stars and a sun, but they are wooden props. The whole universe is flat, unreal, and completely forgotten. Still, Null is having an experience. She perceives the universe as acting upon her, in the form of some fantasy, no doubt.
>Like a dream, the experience is totally and undeniably real, despite being internal. Unlike a dream it is had while awake. The solitary side of Sexual Experience is interesting to me, I suppose. “Null Feelings.” doesn’t necessarily reflect what I was intending to do as a series. It is a test, or sorts.
>To sum up the purpose of my notion. I’m trying to portray sexuality in all its significance by applying the themes and imagery I see in SGAP’s music, because I see those as an excellent lenses by which to see the universe as a whole. Perhaps I am trying to look through the lenses in the wrong direction.

OP here with a friendly bump. Not that much fanmusic posted, but at least that means it won't take too much of my time to listen to all you've posted

I wonder if SGaP just simply got tired of pony, like nearly every other early contributor to the fandom has. That'd be a shame, since I'm pretty sure the only reason he makes music is to express his love for the show.
>>
Le Soldat Pony has some shweet tunes occasionally.

One he did with Griffinilla, who also occasionally has some shweet tunes.

Slightly more recent one. I think he might have deleted a lot of his music, but its archived all around. Anyway, he knows how to work a guitar.

>Pogosama - Everfree Comprimose

Chill and simple, not my cup of tea though. Still pretty good, just a matter of taste, I think.

>Derpidety - Harmony (Return It)

>post-rock

YES.

>Derpidety - The Apple Orchard

>experimental

YESYESYESYESYES this is amazing. And he even says he takes from Toro y Moi, who is one of my favorite artists.

>donglekumquat - Parasprittin'

Nice electro house beat. I like.

>donglekumquat - Glide

Ho, snap. This is quality EDM here. Even has the sexy female vocals.

>Kreuhn Pony - Music with Different Parts

Take all of my YESs, just take 'em

>Kreuhn Pony - No. 15

Different change in tone, but it's still amazing.

>Laservega - Twilight's Quest

Ehh... nah. Kinda cheesy eurodance-y.

>PiercingSight - Magic (Harmony)

Grand classical piece.

>PiercingSight - Stargazer (Sparkle)

Beautiful song on piano.

>PinkiePieSwear

Oh, I know this guy. His stuff is pretty good, albeit slightly generically trance-y. Vocal splicing is absolutely amazing, though. Second to SGaP, most certainly.

And I agree with your last statement.

>>19029322
>PrinceWhateverer - Rainbow Thrash (Revised)

Sounds exactly like Linkin Park. This could be good or bad, depending on personal preference.

>>19029351
Beginning's fine, the bass sounds congested and the vocal splices odd though, honestly.
>>
>>19029357
>dBPony - Make This Pony Mine

Nice upbeat rock-y song. This is enjoyable.

I really like his cover of Hearts Strong as Horses, too.

>Jackle App - I Love Everything

>made in 4 hours

And it shows. Really, though, I wish he'd had put more time into it, it sounds really pretty and dreamy, but the quality of production itself is atrocious.

>Jackle App - Sweetiecut

This is actually pretty decent, vocal splices are pretty good, and the rest of the track supports it pretty well, and gives it a nice chill feel. EDM kicks feel out of place, though.

>Jackle App - Coolness that Defies Gravity

Sounds a bit... odd.

His collab with Mic the Mic isn't that good either, in my very honest opinion.

>Archie - Rainbow And Dash

It's nice, but not up to the caliber of electro house that I'd like.

>Archie - Magic Is Timeless (Club Mix)

This sounds exactly like Avicii. This could be good or bad, depending on personal preference.

His remixes are rockin' though.

>>19029378
>Aviators - Someone Like Me

Real good pop-y song.

>Aviators - Set Me Free

Suddenly, EDM. Not that that's necessarily bad, though. This is good, too.

>>19029379
>Aftermath - Prismatic

Hot dog, euphoria at 170 BPM.

>>19029499
>Seventh Element - Twilight Sparkle

Nice post-rock feel. I like it.

>>19029575
>Faceexplodie - Have Peace Again.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE? This is near SGaP tier.

>Faceexplodie - Doe Eyes

Real nice dream pop sound. This is good, too.

>>19029838
>L-Train - Moonrise

Wow, a 25 minute aural epic. It's beautiful. I can dig this.

>Caine - Sick of Partying

This, not so much. Metal rarely finds its way into my listening, and this isn't an excuse to that. The above song is, though.

>oodorato2 - ?????????

This song sounds like the offspring of Pogo and jazz lovin' Japanese grill. This is awesome.

>oodorato2 - ????????

Confirms my suspicions that this guy's awesome.
>>
>>19029472

oodorato2 - Pink Pinkie

Further confirms my suspicions that this guy's awesome.

SoaringFlight - Above Cloudsdale

The guitar with the EDM-y backing track is nice, it's pretty decent.

>Abrante - May the Best Rap Win

Nice hip hop track.

>>19029968
>Chief Doggingfood 2x Pinkie Pie

Like his name, this is weird, but kinda cute.

>>19030149
>You´ll Play Your Part (µThunder Remix)

Sounds like a hodgepodge of Vengeance sample packs and Nexus 2 synths, topped with those auto-tuned vocals, I don't quite like it.

>Griffinilla + Le Soldat Pony - Broken Horn

Very nice and calm folk-ish song. That harmonica and banjo.

>Le Soldat Pony - Fortuneteller

Traded in the acoustic instruments for some dreamy synths. This is nice too.
>>
>>19029575

I don't think I should say anything about this. This is just a cute song for a cute video. But the vocals are hilariously bad, which is what he was aiming for, I'm sure. The backing tracks good, though, but quiet, which was also probably on purpose.

I just listened to this, and I like it a lot.

It finally made me look up what this Fallout: Equestria stuff is all about. I read some of the summary and the wiki articles. That stuff is dark. Even from only reading some summaries, it makes me think about it a lot.
Also, 620k words. Is it worth reading it?

SGAP is easily my favorite, PinkiePieSwear is great too. Foozogz and TripleBlueShell are also both great, both of those have only been mentioned once in this thread, come on people.

Foozogz has a lot of music and still makes music. I think he's popular? His most recent remix has 80,000 views, 3 months ago of you've got the music in you. It was alright. I like it about as much as the original for whatever thats worth.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra8N48ZbdJU&list=ULXRKmqnnX7TI&index=21

TripleBlueShell is great. He only has eight songs, and he stopped making music a while ago. His most viewed song has 400,000 views, but his views are very skewed. Half of it is 20,000 or less. I'll post his most popular first, followed by my two favorites. Go look at his other stuff even if this doesn't interest you, it won't take you long. In so few songs, he gets a few genres down. More impressive than most.

>>19039888

>>19040746
>Replacer - Song for an Earth Pony
7/10

Vocals sound wonky, not that the guy doesn't have a good voice, but that the way it was recorded and mixed makes it sound strange. Other than that, it's a very nice song. There's a light-hearted yet heavy-hearted feeling to it, such as hope, and the sounds used to convey it does so quite well.

>>19041074
>Omnipony - Clouds
brostep/10

Enjoyable song along the lines of Skrillex, Zomboy, Kill the Noise, and the countless other bruhstep artists. Bass sounds a bit muffled, though.

>So if it feels a bit un-mastered or feels repetitive/rushed, feel free to blame the time it took to make.. 3 hours.

Bugger, what.

>Omnipony is 14 years old?

Just, no, what? W-what, how? What?

I bet he uses loops. But, dang, I'm still envious of his skill.

>>19043610
>Futret - Cupcakes
disturbed/10

Sounds like Aphex Twin while he's high. And psychotic.

>>19043828
>Foozgoz - Twilight's Insanity
5/10

A watered down version of Venetian Snares, both in terms of music and production.

>Wootmaster - (The Ride Ain't) Over
2/10

The backing track's... decent, but he raps better than he sings, and that's not saying much. Every word he utters makes me cringe. And why is there a broken music box playing in the background?

>Among the Herd - What I'll Become

>Evening Star - Octavia
5/10

I wish it didn't sound like he was using VSTs, I feel that a little more automation would have helped a lot. It sounds kind of lifeless because of it. But that aside, if you can't hear it, then enjoy it.

TheDashDub is in the same ballpark, but I feel that it is more able to effect you emotionally, instead of just trying sounding like grand classical music like this song seem to be doing.

>>19051740
>Nexgen - I'm Not Addicted

I'm not really into hip hop either, but I can dig this. The rapping's pretty decent, and the backing track supports it nicely. Bitchin', if that's what people who like this say.

>>19052240
>Radiarc - Amble
6/10

Light, gentle, delicate, but it feels like it's missing something, like fat-free milk.

>Radiarc - My Faithful Student
8/10

>What story do you hear?

Celestia lost her faithful student, Twilight, to the dastardly thing called death, and she's feeling the steadfast sorrow and the intermittent rage of it.

In other words, them feels.

What the fuck? Ponies and trap don't mix well. This feels like a parody. But I feel like the whole genre of trap is a parody, so take that with a salt grain.

>Dex Ford - Singing Telegram
1/10

What the fuck? This sounds quite stupid.

>Dex Ford - So Many Cupcakes
4/10

This is better, but not by much.

>>19053979
>PinkiePieSwear - Trixie's Good Side

Don't get me wrong, I have mentioned that PinkiePieSwear's mighty fine, but his earlier work's not as good, in my opinion. Still a decent track, none the less.

>You're Got the Music (Foozgoz Delight Mix)
6/10

Somewhat decent attempt at complextro/mainstream house music. Nice happy tone.

>TripleBlueShell - Gonna Make You Smile (Smile Smile Smile Remix)
7/10

Jazzy, with a healthy dosage of Ponka pone vocals.

>TripleBlueShell - Art of the Dress (Reception Remix)
8/10

Better musically than the above song. It elaborates on its idea better, flows more easily, and has a lovely smooth feeling to it. It's a shame it got so many less views just because it doesn't have four Raritys on it.

>TripleBlueShell - E55
TEN OUT OF THE TEN

SGaP sans glitches, and it conveys the episode into musical terms so well, and do I need to mention how good the piano playing is? The piano playing is so good.

>>19058993

The Beatles comes to mind when I hear this. Somewhat down, but pretty good. I especially like the bridge/instrumental section.

>implying my opinions matter

I love TripleBlueShell too, but here we go.

>TripleBlueShell - Octavia's Epiphany
5/10

Sounds a bit confused, and production-wise it's not good either. It's his (supposedly) first song though, so it doesn't mean too much.

>TripleBlueShell - Dreams (BBBFF Remix)
5/10

Mostly the same as his Smile Smile Smile remix, but it sounds a bit confused here, as well, the vocals splices sound downright silly at times, and the Braeburn sample was uncalled for. I'm not quite sure why there's a sudden lapse into classical at the end, either.

And I've already "reviewed" the song What Friendship Could Be, just ctrl+f the song in the thread.

>So Many Fluttershys (So Many Wonders Remix)
7/10

Back on track, the bass and piano go quite well together with the vocal splices, which are quite well placed. And that flute. Ooh, yeah, that flute.

>TripleBlueShell - Petal Blast
7/10

Saxophone dubstep? This is dangerous territory, but it's still good. Interesting musically, and it sounds full as well. The drop can sound a bit ridiculous, though. Vocal splices and piano are both done masterfully, following the trend set before.

I know, experimental style, acquired taste, takes a while to warm up to, blah blah blah. I think her music is good on it's own merits and the slightly wonky singing just adds to the experience.
>>
>>19059660
Now that I think about it, his stuff can be a bit of a mixed bag, at least for me. E55, What Friendship Could Be, and his Art of the Dress remix are still ranked quite highly in my book.

That pinkie's brew reminded me of this song. It's an industrial instrumental version of it. I don't remember where I first heard this song, but every few months I feel like listening to it again. Nothing as good as SGAP or PinkiePieSwear, but I like it. He remastered it (as you'll notice by the annotation), I haven't listened to the newer version since I first noticed it, but I remember liking the older one better, so that is what you're getting here. I've never bothered to listen to his other music, I'll have to do that sometime.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQYtsc-scFo
>>
>>19059789
It doesn't really fit into a genre as the style shifts around a lot. I'd recommend starting with The Standard Model. His music isn't up on his channel anymore, but you can find it at http://sogreatandpowerful.com/ and various archival YouTube channels. Basically, his songs make you feel happy and sad at the same time and bring back some major season 1 feels, which I guess you'll be experiencing for the first time. Anyway, enjoy!
>>

if you're going to listen to The Standard Model, I highly suggest watching the PMVs for maximum feels.

Also, I'm not sure this was mentioned yet, but I think this song is great.

I think he meant the nostalgic feels. When I listen to the older songs that I used to listen to, they bring back memories. Personally, RainbowCrash88's old 8bit songs really get me. I used to listen to Art of the Dress, At the Gala, and Winter Wrap Up daily. Also Pony Swag.

Listen to some Pony Swag. It's not great, but it brings back the season 1 memories for me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1HZp4ClFXY
I remember there was some 15+ minute version with a bunch of different rappers that I never got around to listening to. I like to read through the lyrics as I listen to a song for the first time, so I'd have to sit down and decide I'm going to do this. Looking back on it, and with how jaded I've become because of this damn board, I now assume it was shit. Any of you listen to that, was it any good?

>Cats Millionaire - The Ressurrection: 3D
7/10

Assault to the ears. Now if only her vocals could join in the fight, it sounds like she's trying to sing with feeling, but it's not working.

>Cat Milly vs. Renard - Art of the Dress Cover
8/10

Monotone vocals are glorious in this case. The percussion is very forceful, and the mix of chip tunes and IDM for the backing track add to its glory.

>Cats Millionaire - Pinkie's Brew
7/10

It's more chill here, but it's still quite nicely done. Nothing that screams, "I'M AWESOME," though.

>Cats Millionaire - Rarity Fighting a Giant Crab
4/10

Ridiculous vocals aside, the backing track is lacking. Also, the very low, distorted bass and the very high pitched leads leave something to be desired in the middle range.

>I don't "flipper" give a "ship"

Hue.

Still bothers me how this whole headcanon came from Lyra just casually sitting on a park bench in an unorthodox manner. Bugger this fandom.

>Ponky and Eccentrifuge - Bright Eyes (A Wonky Anthem)
7/10

More poppy music, but this has some weight to it. The backing track is substantial, musically, and the redhead's vocals are pure homo sex. So homo. The quality of production is quite good, too, a breath of fresh air.

>DerpyCrash ft PegaSix - Alight
6/10

Decent drum and bass. It doesn't get my attention, however, although I do like the addition of the grungey guitar and wispy piano, as well as the neat-o vocal splices. I'm not quite a fan of liquid drum and bass, I prefer my 160 BPM music to hit harder than that. Personal preference, subjectivity, ect.

>AdamTh3Walker - Geologist
8/10

Gentle, but this time it's for a very good reason. Holds a lot of emotion in it, and the electronic drum kit adds to the atmosphere quite well.

>Eurobeat Brony - Batty (ft. Odyssey)
eurobeat/10

I'm not a fan of eurobeat. It sounds cheesy in my opinion, and this is no exception.

Oh, the vocoder vocals just came on. Let's move on.

>Freewave - Pino Colada
jamaica/10

Hahahahano

I don't like Freewave. In my opinion, even though he does a lot of different genres, he sucks at them all. If only he could just stick to one genre, and perfect it, he'd save us from all this crap. BUT OPINIONS

>Zatslol - Welcome Ponyvillians
6/10

Same comment as Joaftheloaf's song, except this is produced with more skill. Sill sounds a bit bland, to me, but I'm betting it's because of the kind of music this is.

What genre is this song in, anyway?

>AwkwardMarina - Sombra's Door
4/10

Cheesy, again. Personal opinion, again.

>AwkwardMarina - Entropy (Sim Gretina Remix)
7/10

Oh, yes. Yes. When that electro house bass kicked in, I quite literally twerked in my seat. The vocals are so sassy, too, adds a lot of personality to it. Quite upbeat, quite enjoyable.

LE TEN OUT OF THEN

Otherworldly, in one word, and in every good definition of the word. Glitches and chills lie ahead, as well.

Why did he delete nearly all his stuff and not even say goodbye, then? Seems kinda asshole-ish for him to do that, and he's most definitely not an asshole.

there was something about this in the archive
something about him wanting to make such good music that no one so much as thought of his old music
artists do weird shit, bruh
>>
>>19061550
I think I remember people complaining about his newer stuff because they weren't in the same style as the standard model (which is kind of sad, I liked S2 and Space Pony). I'm not sure if those complaints got to him or not though. I do think it is at least the reason he took down one of the Cats Milly remixes he did like a day or two after he posted it because of people hating it.

From what I've read from those that have talked to him (AndTheRainfall in particular) he liked to start with a fresh slate every time. Every piece he makes teaches him more and the more he knows the more flaws he sees in his old work.

there were comments about this in the archive i think
someone posted about his style changing and he said that he didn't care for his new style
you should really check the archive, there's a lot of stuff in there

>the redhead's vocals are pure homo sex

Ponky has one of the best voices in the fandom imo
