>He smears the pizza wildly on the floor, the eye tracking its every movement.
>Then he flings the errant slice clean through the door and over the monster.

So we ate at least three slices of pizza between us and Steel, plus that one he just threw, despite clearly starting with two slices.

If this box can make infinite pizza, it is even more precious since we can distract the monster away with them.

I think we're good. No need to worry. Have some celebratory juice and a fruit slice.

we're going to want half-guard up as soon as possible for our mana regain turns, so we use it first while we have no dodge stacks up.

once we have 6 ap we'll be at near full dodge so we'll be safe while half-guard is on cooldown.

The rifle is optional I suppose, just free damage and i dont see another use for it.

Actually, why not just pass completely? No need to use the rifle.
All it does is force us to spend half guard a turn early, as opposed to passing, staying still, start the battle proper with 6ap and activating half guard after our 6ap turn.
>>
>>25606533
because halfguard is wasted on the 6ap turn.
We'd have near full dodge so why would we need steel to take a hit?

When we're passing we have zero dodge so we will be hit, so spend it now.

[Druidic Sentry]

>A unified creature born of ancient magic and dense plant life. Ancient forest mages wove these from various souls and life energies, creating a plant that could seek, protect, or detain targets at the grower's behest. Said to be linked to the wielder's body.

>Depending on the caretaker, some could proagate and grow automatically, allowing the user to 'terraform' an area for the mage to use at a later date

>There are three common alignments each tendril may take.

>>Eye
Observes and relays images to the host or the grower. Used to identify threats and provide minor inferential skills to the plant itself. Note: Does not indicate sentience.

>>Mouth
Attacks and devours minor prey. Used to provide both itself and the grower with sustenance. Can relay messages to other mages. Note: Has no sensory abilities of its own aside from taste.

>>Ear
Carries sound to the host and alerts other sentries. When possessing another creature, provides them with echolocation abilities. Note: Sensitive to loud noises.

Is that not just a weird leaf? All the ear plants on the beast were contained in flowers, as are the eyes and mouths in the rest of the room.

Even if it is it's only one, as opposed to the several eye/mouth plants around, so trying to stun it like we did the beast probably wouldn't fare as well.

Why don't we just try and ask whatever's controlling the plants to talk with us or come out here?

Ask Gideon how they relate to the Druidic Focus.

>On the Focus and Sentry

The druidic focus is of a similar school of magic as the Druidic Sentry, hence the name.
Unlike the Sentry, the Focus is a vine woven with magical energies that serves the user in only a physical capacity. Sustenance, saftey, and self preservation qualities are not present in the Focus. It is merely a tool of druidic mages from another world.

However, despite these very clear differences, bot the Sentry and the Focus are excellent catalysts and conductors for magical energies and influences. So much so, that druids were said to be able to impose will and energy upon those who were in contact with the vine.

I wonder how the sentries would react to the focus.

"Steel, get ready to push everything in the room against the walls if you can."

>A set of ethereal chains coalesce in the air behind you.
>He simply nods and assumes a ready position.

>You ready your Focus, and pull a bladed object from your bandanna.
>Wrapping the vine around the handly tightly, you attempt to float the vine though the center of the room, staying as far from the walls as possible.

>This is a lot more work than just pulling ot wrapping things...
>Still, you make progress and position the knife high in the air above the tied up sheep.

>You look around the doctor
>There appears to be a mouth vine around her arm
>An eye vine wrapped around her neck
>And an ear vine wrapped around her legs.

eye?

Slice the neck vine first. We don't want it to have any leverage and we want to cut the neckvine before it starts thrashing so we have the lowest chance of making a mistake.
>>
>>25643507
My first guess would be to get rid of the eye first.

All aboard.

>You pull the blade up and slash it downards, aiming for the vine around her neck.
>You make a clean cut, severing the vine in one fell swoop.

>It spurts blood, and the eye frantically looks around.
>Every jerking motion it makes cauisng a bit more to seep out.

>After a moment of idle wriggling, it ceases entirely

Feed our precious last slice? Are you mad?
think of the potential mp/hp regain it could have in combat
>>
>>25643595
How bad is the wriggling? If its not too intense we quickly go after the other vines, trying to cut Ewe Clid out. The doctor is our highest priority.
>>
>>25643595
the mouth only has taste right? cut the ear next and then it's going to be basically insensate.

The box is magic and can make more.

>>25643595
Calm down the mouths with a slice of pizza. Shame about the eye though. Can't give it its favorite anymore.
>>
>>25643605
Fuck.
Reading.
Just cut the other vines.
>>

Ear->mouth based on sensory importance.
