How would you try to explain the concept of God to a pone?
Given the pones know nothing about and have never contemplated such a being prior.
Would you convince them you are a servant of God, or that you are God yourself? How would you prove this?
If you manage to succeed, what would you command them to do? Or would you rebuke them for things they already do?

I don't think God was invented as an excuse for lack of knowledge because such a phrase was not used until after alternatives were come up with. Like the theory of evolution etc. I have a hunch it was more of a conduit for power and salvation, as most of the scientific advancements that have allowed us to observe more unexplained things about the universe, simply were not around.

Explaining what God is isn't the tough part. He's an omnipresent, omnibenevolent, omniscient being. Three big O words take care of that.
The tough part is explaining HOW He is, considering that God is a force operating below levels of quantum function that we can even observe, and is simultaneously transfinite.
I'd probably stick with the three Os, then let them use the Socratic Method from there, then discuss their thoughts as they bring them.
